What's your SDMB page size? (Number of posts per page)

What’s the maximum number of posts that appear on a page when you’re reading the SDMB? Do you go with the default of 50, or do you use one of the other options for page size?

Poll to follow.

In case anyone’s wondering how you change the number of posts in a page:

If you go to User CP, after you click on “Edit Options” in the left-hand column, scroll down a good ways to the “Thread Display Options” box. Inside that are some smaller boxes; one is “Number of posts to show per page.” The choices in the poll are the ones offered there. “Use forum default” gets you 50 posts per page in all forums, as best as I can tell.

I’m at 40, don’t recall having changed it though.

Oops, nm. Can’t read, too stupid, shoot me.

50 - I didn’t actually know you could change it. I think I’ll keep it at the default, though, just because by now the number of times I click “next page” kind of acts as a guide - if I click on a thread and it’s 19 pages long, I know someone’s arguing and things have probably already gotten messy.

  1. Never bothered to change it and the MMP likes to yell first every 50 posts.

Default. I knew you could change it, but what’s the point?

  1. Just seems tidier somehow. Not so many that the page goes on forever, not so few that I’m always having to click on the next page.

I expect this added efficiency has/will save aproximately 0.89 seconds over the course of my lifetime ;).

  1. If I’m following a thread, I’d rather not have to repeatedly hit Next Page. It’s unnecessarily jarring.

^This. The typical downside to most posts/page is slow loading, but that’s on forums that allow images, video, etc. Here, why not?

40, left over from a small, slow computer on a small isp at a different place.

Some MB’s I do change but I am now used to 40 here and it does not bother me.

20,000. So I can read the Stupid Republican Idea Of The Day thread without wearing out my mouse from all the next-page clicking.

Exactly this.
