What's your source of caffiene?

Mmm… now I want coffeeee

Well I try to control my coffee addiction… but it doesn’t help when my friends by me an espresso maker for my birthday!

My source of caffine? Hmm… a short macciato (espresso with a dash of milk). Tastes absolutely wonderful when it’s made properly! But one thing I will never understand people who drink milky coffee or people who commit the greatest sin of all… putting SUGAR in their coffee!! yuck

tee hee it’s my aim in life to be a coffee connoisseur

Tea, tea, and more tea.

Although not as much as I used to – when I was in my 20’s I’d guzzle pots of tea a day. Now I’m in the 3-5 cup range, and avoid it after 4 pm when I have to get up early the next day. Ah, the trials of aging!

As a rule of thumb - if you sleep well, you don’t have the shakes and jitters, and your blood pressure is not an issue, you’re not overdoing it. Different people have different tolerances.

This site: www.coffeescience.org/other.html has some great info on why coffee is not bad for you! I do quite a bit of reading on the subject myself. For years, my husband bugged me to give up caffeine, but I kept pointing out studies that said it doesn’t hurt me. I told him that if reliable studies could prove harmful effects, I might think about giving it up!

I did stop drinking it while I was pregnant (well, cut back to very low levels), but otherwise, I make an 8-cup pot in the morning, which fills my large mug 2 and a half times, and that lasts me til about 2 or 3 PM, and I’m done for the day. All I ever drink are coffee, water (lots and lots of water) and the occasional beer. Don’t do sodas cuz my urologist says it promotes formation of kidney stones.

They say coffee is a slow death. It must be slow. I’m 92 and it hasn’t killed me yet.

Voltaire (French poet)

BTW, I agree that the OP shouldn’t be drinking coffee late in the day, cuz teens need sleep! I don’t let me 15-yr-old drink too much, as it makes her much too obnoxious!

the only time i notice any buzz from caffeine is after 3 large mugs of cafetiere coffee.
espresso and instant don’t do it for me.

for all-night cramming i have my big 8 mug cafetiere pot. yummy.

i drink a lot of tea and instant coffee i buy fairtrade for both, because that’s more important to me than the brand).

although recently i’ve been drinking rooibosch tea, camomile tea and green teas, not too sure why.

orange pekoe tea which I take with flavoured coffee creamer or room temperature coca cola classic

Sobe, Power flavored. Hopelessly addicted.

Two Cherry Cokes in the morning, often one for lunch, then +maybe+ one later. Trying hard to limit to no more than 4 per day, usually only violate that on long gaming days. For variety, I’ll have a Barq’s, or a Dr. Pepper, but never for morning caffeine.

About 5-6 years ago, I used to drink 8-10 cans of Diet soda per day. I was having all sorts of nasty headaches, all the time. Stopped drinking the stuff cold-turkey and since then haven’t had even 1% of the headaches I used to have!

I have never liked Coffee or Tea. Coffee Breath is one of the seven deadly sins, is it not? I keep trying on Tea, but just can’t acquire the taste.

Coffee. Lots of it. Black. I drink about 6 cups a day.

I get my caffiene fix from my coffee. Tim Horton’s coffee. Every morning (well almost, only the days I work) I vary it with Earl Grey tea and other assorted teas. I don’t drink too much soda lately, except while on the job. I have a couple of mugs full a night the rest of the time I drink water.

I try not to drink too much coffee at one time though. I learned my lesson after gulping back 4 cups in about half an hour and I had so much energy I was bouncing off the walls. The only time I drink tons of coffee is when camping. We usually leave a pot on the fire and come back to the site to grab some whenever we feel like. So I drink coffee for breakfast, each meal and at night while we stay up late around the lantern plaing crib.

It depends on the time of day.

9am to 12 noon: coffee, coffee and more coffee.
12 noon to 6 pm: mountain dew or nothing at all.
6pm to 10 pm: no caffiene
after 10pm(on weekends): Red Bull and Vodka all the way.

Coffee–usually, 2 cups a day max. I used to drink at least 1 coca-cola a day as well (heh, usually more!), but in an effort, albeit not a very concerted one, to cut back on the amount of caffeine I was imbiding, I started limiting the intake to the coffe in the AM. Soda-wise, I switched to ginger-ale. Note: on weekends, I sometimes have 3 cups of coffee a day.

Diet Mountain Dew. Not because I’m on a diet or am watching calories, I just prefer the taste of Diet Dew…regular is just too sweet and sugary. I think Diet Dew also has more caffeine, anyway.

One weird thing I have noticed about caffeine is that it doesn’t keep me up at night…I actually have trouble sleeping if I have cut back on my caffeine intake that day.
