“Too Drunk to Fuck”, by The Dead Kennedys.

Either Crowds by Bauhaus or The Boxer by Simon & Garfunkel. Actually, both.
Secret Agent Man
Some obscure lines from the Celebrant in Bernstein’s Mass:
Blessed is the man who loves the Lord
Blessed is the man who praises him
I shall lift up my eyes
to the hills from whence
comes my hope*
and the sun will not smite me by day
nor the moon at night

Institutionalized - Suicidal Tendencies
This one’s easy.
Eye of the Tiger - Survivor
When I moved to Santa Fe, the rugby club welcomed me by driving around in a van with a tapped keg in the back, playing Eye of the Tiger on repeat. I put it on every day after we pass the guard station on the way to work. Pumps me up to face the day.

Suicide is Painless
Why yes, I depressive. How 'bout you?
Wow, I hear the lyrics completly differently.
Don’t you draw the Queen of Diamonds, she’ll beat you if she’s able
you know the Queen of Hearts is always your best bet
It seems to me some fine things have been laid upon your table
but you only want the things that you can’t get
See this page. The song Desperado quoted by Zebra is Track #5, while the reprise quoted by Annie is Track #11.
Johnny Cash’s Desperado on one of his last albums is quite moving.
Seeing Double at the Triple Rock - NOFX
“What we know is that we don’t wanna be,
anywhere but here! Please don’t make us leave,
When in Minnesota and you’ve got a drinkin’ quota.”
I don’t live in Minnesota, but I like to drink.
And that is what is wrong with itunes and buying one song at a time and not the whole album.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard track 11
With a nod to Robert Nesta Marley, OM, my theme song is Three Little Birds:
Dont worry about a thing,
cause every little thing gonna be all right.
Singin: dont worry about a thing,
cause every little thing gonna be all right!
“Creep” – Radiohead
Box of Rain:
I’d actually been thinking about this quite a bit recently… for the last several months, it’s most definitely been One Endless Childish Day - Dark Suns. The lyrics are good (not on the level of, say, Anathema), but the music is downright brilliant… the ENTIRE album builds up to the last 4 minutes of this song (I think it runs about 13-14 minutes, which is not an atypical length for this kind of music), and it gives me a combination of chills and pure inspirational energy every single time I hear it.
Funny thing is, I loved the album they released before this one, but I was initially rather unimpressed with the follow-up. I didn’t actually even really like this song UNTIL it came up on shuffle, and went from… eh, it’s nothing special to… wow, this is perfect!
Thanks for all of the replies.
It’s also cool to see why some of these songs were chosen. When I made the original post, I figured it should be up to y’all to decide if you wanted to tell why you chose your song or simply give a title. Either way I think it’s interesting.
