What's your theme song?

“Into the Fire” from the Scarlet Pimpernel musical, if we have to do upbeat. Or perhaps the Bad Examples recordings of “Not Dead Yet” (Which I find infinitely better than the Styx version). If upbeat is not a requirement, “A Criminal Mind.” I get to feel all cold and calculating* when I listen to that.

*like a computer in a freezer.

Nirvana - I Hate Myself and I Want to Die . I’m not big on the song itself, but the title is a nifty mantra.

“Pure And Easy”

“There once was a note…listen!”

I already have two picked, it matters what mood I’m in: Baby Elephant Walk or Yakity Sax.

To the tune of My Country Tis of The/ God Save the Queen

God bless my underpants
And when I get the chance
In them I dance
And when I take this stance
My package is enhanced
I saw you take a glance
God bless my underpants!

Then I down a beer.

The only one I can think of right now is I’m So Excited by the Pointer Sisters, and that got me a speeding ticket once. I need something similar, but slower tempo. Let me ponder that awhile.

Sorry - I can’t send youTube links from work. But youprobably have to listen to these to understand.

My old one was: neal-mccoy-you-gotta-love-that

Which I recently realized needed an update, so I went with:

Montgomery_Gentry_what_do_ya_think_about_that

I’m not a farm girl, but I do have a bit of a redneck mind underneath this business suit and I have to say it has served me well.

You’re Aging Well

Or, if I have a headache, then Cure for Pain, of course.

Known in Surefall Glade as “Oak’s Anthem”, you mere mortals call it Free Bird

“The Ecstasy of Gold” by Ennio Morricone, from the soundtrack to The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

It’s not my favorite song ever, but it’s one that pops into my head a lot when I’m in a good mood. And Mrs Wheelz claims it fits my personality (believe it or not!):

Katrina & the Waves - Walkin’ on Sunshine

Do you know the one to “God Bless America”? Similar concept.

“Oh My What a Shame” Don McLean

lyrics here: MCLEAN DON - OH MY WHAT A SHAME LYRICS

the part that most speaks to me:

For there’s nothing you can say when it’s over
And there’s nothing you can do when it’s done
there’s no battle you can win
and there’s nothing to begin that’s not begun

In this moment, I recall your face and I wonder if you still
think about me, occasionally I still think of you
and I watch the river flow and I know I must let go
but it’s oh so hard for the waves are all around my small canoe
I had always hoped this boat could carry two
This has been one of my favorite songs for almost 40 years. I was lots of fun as a kid :stuck_out_tongue:

If You Want to Sing Out.

That, or Loser. Two sides of the same coin, really.

Well, I’m going to have to say…John Barry’s Main Theme to The Last Valley (Choral version). I’m a very cheerful person.

Lately, whenever I need to feel my oats and stomp it out, Madonna’s Revolver does the trick.

I’ve repeatedly told my wife and my parents that at my funeral, I want Bowie’s “Space Odyssey” and Marley’s “Redemption Songs” to be played, and loudly.

I only wish I could afford to blast my ashes into the stratosphere like Hunter Thompson had done.

I find myself singing the Stones to myself pretty frequently.

You can’t always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you just might find
You get what you need

The Doctor Who Theme – the rock version used during the Peter Davison days.

For a song with lyrics, then Paperback Writer (for obvious reasons).
