I worked, I came home. Having a beerverage and making dinner.
It can’t have gone well if you’re being put on trial.
But good luck, and don’t forget to tell the Security boss where he can stick his tea cozy.
spaghetti with chicken, asparagus tomatoes and portabellas. GMTA
I know, I wanna complain about the heat and humidity again! And we’re getting 3-5" Wednesday night. : looks at crappy Chinese made " Know Snowe" sign :
rosie, I trust my vehicles to Manny, Moe, and Jack.
Ruble, sound like you need the Holy Homemovers of Antioch!
Oh, I well and truly LOLd, kopek. Thanks for that!
Many of my plants are inside, huddled from the cold. I let Pretzel on a walkabout (love that Britishism!) and decided the likely squirrel smells might be interesting. Maybe the reptile smell will keep the squirrels from digging when I put the planter back out.
Showing that those lovely patterns really can camouflage:
Achtung! Photo of a snake. Do not click if they oook you out.
Tacos were good , but not quite filling enough, so I am making a one eyed Jack, then going to bed. Good night, everyone, we shall see what tomorrow’s weather brings.
Yay! Made it to Toosday without killing anyone. That must be a bonus, since yesterday turned out to be a bit of a rubbish day.
Conga-rats on the job stuff, Nuts. Coffee shop sounds good, I think that would be a nice job, much better than having to deal with idiot students and academics who think they know how to do my job better than I do.
A pox upon whoever selected this particular pear to be canned! Canned pears are supposed to yield easily to the edge of the spoon that wishes cut off a piece. This particular pear half bent my spoon more easily than Uri Geller! OK, it’s not bent, but still, what a tough hunk o’pear! At least I have a brownie for my breakfast dessert!
I get to go to WalMart today. rah. When my FIL had his knees replaced, he found that a bag of frozen pees were ideal for icing the knee. The only problem was that after multiple re-freezings, the peas were pretty worthless as a cold compress. However, there’s a company that makes re-freezable knee peas! That’s not what they’re called, but that’s the idea. And I discovered that they sell them at WalMart and supposedly, my local store has them. So I’m off to get some for my sweetie.
Or I will be off. Later. This morning, I’m thinking I’ll go back to bed for a while. I had a terrible night - don’t think I slept 3 consecutive hours at any point. Guess that’s what I get for reading The Hobbit before bed. I’ve had this particular paperback since Christmas 1971, according the what I inscribed inside the front cover at the time. It cost 95¢, in case you were wondering.
Other than venturing out for knee peas, I’ll probably wash a load of towels today. I should dust, too. It’s impossible to clean the pellet stove without ash dust settling everywhere! But we all know how much I lurves to dust… So we shall see what the day brings.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 45 Amurrkin out and rainy with a high of 53 and rainy for the day. It shall be rainy through Thursday accordin’ to the weather PTB. At least it ain’t snow and ice like those north of the gnat line are in for. The “gnat line” is called the fall line on the map, the dividin’ line between north and south Jawja.
Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and need to feed rumbly tummy and OYKW. Then, alas and alack, purtification for irk must commence.
Guess I can’t put it off much longer. Time to shower, then head to WalMart - it shouldn’t be too insane on a Tuesday morning, should it? One can only hope…
MOOOOOOM :eek:WallyWorld:eek: is always insane. I have found, IME, that :eek:WallyWorld:eek: is the literal home of insane no matter what time of day or night or what day it is.
So, it’s the Tuesday before payday, the day of the ominous these persons have not turned in their time sheets email. I call, I say if the time sheet is not in before ten a.m. no payday this Firday. Also, because I’m nice dammit (the MMP tagline), I say if’n you fax a copy to me I will scan and email it in provided I get it by 9:30 a.m. at the latest. Still, at least two people will not do this, but will bitch and moan and whine when they don’t get paid Firday. Sigh. Woe is me! Woe is them! I have little sympathy for that level of dumbassery however.
Showered, dressed, and I did the inventory sheet for the Easter items I’m going to drop off at the little store. Guess I’m ready to brave the wilds of WalMart, etc…
At irk. This is the coldest February on record in no. Illinois. That’s what the weatherman said last night. I have no problem with WalMart. One opened about 2 years ago close to my house. It’s bright and clean and well-stocked and the shoppers and workers are very nice. In contrast to Meijer which I hate because the shoppers and workers have a combined IQ of about 12.

Mark your calendar’s, Mumpers. Firday morning we ALL need to bitch & whine @ Swampy about not being paid by him. Yes, even you across-the-pond Mumpers, too!
No school again today. We only had two days of school last week and none so far this week. I’m thinking about going back to bed, but waiting for RT to call me after he eats breakfast.
I got invited (intentionally or accidentally, I’m not sure) to a McGill music faculty party next month! I’m not a McGill music student, but I once was. It’d be hilarious (or, at least, mildly amusing) if I showed up. I’ll see if I can get my hands on a ticket.
In other news, I must continue work on my music arrangements today, plus I have to go out to an appointment, and maybe the bank and drugstore too.
I don’t know about anyone else but I’m getting out another blanket for tonight and rethinking this whole “global warming” thing. Other than that blood draws in advance of the approaching 10,000 mile checkup at the docs.
Appendage crossing welcome re: hopeful job, but cavorting rodentia are premature…
I done a stoopid today, I need to renew my passport, as Mother hath declared that her 60th this year shall be celebrated by taking the family to Minorca. The system is convoluted; you fill in a form online, pay online, then print out a confirmation document, which needs photos and signatures and stuff, which you the post with the old passports.
Once you paid, you have only 72 hours to print off the form before the login option vanishes.
I did the online stuff and printed out the form on Thursday. Got new horrible photos done on Friday, but was busy at the weekend. I totally forgot to send it yesterday: I’d got it all ready, except the signing and dating, so I went to do that this morning… And my messy signature went outside the box.
This renders the whole form invalid, and I can’t reprint it now.
I’ve messaged them on the help form, but if they haven’t replied by tomorrow, I shall have to call them… Joy. I’m glad I have until July before I’m going anywhere.
I wish I had a thermos full of martinis for N.O.L. Mind you, this would not make the dumbassedness that is today go away, but then, I wouldn’t care.
I talked to OYKW a little bit ago. He asked me how my day was goin’. I said it could be worse, I could be in Macon. He was not amused. Poor thing is bored outta his mind at a meetin’.
Did you just call your fellow Mumpers dumbasses?
You should know that that type of language is not allowed outside of the Pit & that there are [del]multiple pairs of jackboots[/del] a few wonderful mods who (semi-)frequent here.
Besides, I figgured the extra annoyance to you was just a wee, small payback for some of your TMIedness! :o
