When Blind Dates Go Wrong

I have never been on a blind date, so I don’t have the experience to know whether I would have done like this fellow did in Shanghai. His turned out to be so bad that he asked her out on a second date so he could rob her and recoup the money he spent on her on the first date. He’d spent a whole 100 yuan on her, which is close to 16 bucks American. Managed to take 70 yuan off her.

The woman failed to give police his name when reporting the crime, because it turned out she was married.

Found him on Ashley Madison, did she?

I wish I could find the article again, but I found a great analysis of why dating services go so horribly wrong today. To paraphrase:

A level men marry B level women
B level men marry C level women
C level men marry D level women
So the only choice for A level women is D level men.

Was that the seminal paper on vertical integration by Billy Joel et al?

It was a Chinese dating agency, iirc…I didn’t start the fire.

You put 7+ billion monkeys on one rock and damn near every possible stupid and chaotic thing is gonna happen at least once.

How many wrongs don’t add up to a right here?

So, D level men have a shot at A level women? Sweet!
