When Come Back Bring PII A Mobile MMP

Blurf, even at 0920. I did not sleep well last night.

I have the distinct (dis-)pleasure today of going to the horsepistol in Betsytown to play pee-inna-cup, so I can do my 48 hours of clinical time in the ER. Despite my deranged postings here, the analysis should be quite boring. I don’t think they’ll have much chance of finding anything past dietary supplements and diabetic meds…

Happy Firday, y’all!!

Feel better soon, soapy!

pie, I didn’t think the hugs comment was corny. I thought it was sweet.

rebo mmmmm, beef stew!

swampy, get out there and get at that porch and deck, young man! They won’t clean themselves, you know. And don’t give me that look! Your face might freeze that way and then you’ll be sorry.

Last night I cooked the pasta I brought back from Italy. It was an egg pasta that was very noodle like but long. The package had instructions in french, spanish, german and english as well as italian. They were very funny. The pasta, was, in fact, deeeeelish! Now I wish I’d bought more.

I’ve been busy putting my brother’s pics on Photobucket in preparation for my OP. This morning I realized I have a whole nuther week till I’m due on Nov. 3. That’s right, innit gt?!

bobbio, sorry to hear your nuts are rather sparse this year. But I hear that’s normal, especially as you get older.

Okay, nuff teasing. Back to work.

Tupug

Mornin’ all. I’m checking in…for the first time this week…on Friday.

I read everything, but retained little, except:
(((((MMP)))))

Last weekend I went to Philadelphia for Hawkeyeop’s Uncle’s Birthday party. It was fun; he’s a very interesting guy. He’s a police detective, and he used his badge to get us all free train rides. Philly has been decked out for Breast Cancer Awareness. The buildings have pink lights and one of the fountains has been dyed pink. I’ll link to photobucket pictures later as I don’t have the links at work.

Work has been super busy. The project that was only supposed to be a week long now has a schedule for month 3. Ugh. I’m so tired of validating reports. This is taking time from quality Doping. (Oh, Yeah, and my real job.)

Market is expected to tank today. It’s been open less than 15 minutes and the Dow is already down 450. (My screen gets updated every 3 seconds.) The VP sent out an email this morning saying, “it’s going to be a wild ride. Buckle your seat belts.” Lovely. I know that they’re expecting some kind of system failure because of the increased volumes.

Poor Soapy! Feel better soon!

I’m bored at work. And I’m really getting tired of being bored at work. And it’s only going to get worse over the next couple months. Our busy season is just wrapping up. So I guess I need to go find some long-term projects to take on, but I really hate long-term projects. I’m the kind of person who likes finding better, easier, faster, more efficient, etc. ways to execute regular jobs. But our regular jobs become much less frequent now until January. Long-term stuff just doesn’t hold my attention. I need deadline-driven tasks, stuff that needs to be done by the end of the day today or else! I’m really good at that kind of stuff. Not the spend-the-next-month-analyzing-this-vague-question and redo it fifteen times because we didn’t tell you that we want it this way not that way type of stuff. Bleh.

I think I’m going to try those potatoes over the weekend, but not quite sticking to the recipe. I don’t have Yukon potatoes, and I need to use the potatoes that I do have so it’s going to get made with whatever I have in the pantry-type potatoes. And I think I’m going to use something other than Gruyere, again because it’s what I have on hand.

Other than that, I need meal ideas for the next week. Guess I should go check the recipe blog, huh?

Ah yes, it’s a defect I also share. I mean, in another job track it ought’a be a virtue, but apparently it’s a defect in consultants. My current project is supposed to last two years total and that’s about 15 months more than I reckon it would have lasted if I’d been allowed to design it :stuck_out_tongue: And yes, I know I’ve whined about it before. I like 99% of the people, I just don’t like the project (and the person who designed it, which is logical as our criteria seem to be complete opposites)! It’s still a beauty compared with the situation of being in an equally-misdesigned project but where most people give me the barfs.

Fortunately, it is a virtue in my job for large parts of the year. But when we get to the slow times… well, yeah, it jumps over into the defect category. Bleh.

At least at the moment I can spend some of my time working on creating data integrity monitors, which does feed into my likes-to-create-efficient-repeatable-jobs side. And, although they’re still incomplete, we’ve already caught 4 issues in a week. Not good for the data quality, but good for my monitors!

:smack: I knew I was doing something wrong!

Taking a short break. I’ve been painting for almost two hours! Yay me! I don’t have FCM’s stamina. Ima slacker, bigtime.

Stop

talking

about

food.
ugh.

:: hands Soapy some Gatorade::

Poor baby. :frowning:

Well, I’m here again!

{{{MMP}}}

Special Hug of the day goes to {{{Ivory}}} – feel better!

Oh, and you’ll all want to know that **Haze **asked to say “hi” to everybody!

Wheeee! We’re moving! It’s been decided not to renew the lease on the building, so we’re going to be moved to other downtown buildings. Time for everyone to start weeding out their dead tree archives.

For me, the questions will be:
Move the plant? Nope. It’s icky, scrawny and nearly dead anyway.
Move the disk pack? Yes. It might be big, but it’s useful for showing things like platters, tracks and elevator seeks. Modern drives are so tiny, the concepts become imaginary.
Move the Big Iron? Hmmm… It’s not a mainframe, but it is a 2" diamater chunk of used rebar that weighs about 20 pounds. Bulky, but striking. It’ll probably get moved, just because you can’t get stuff like this without demolishing something huge like a bridge.

ETA: Yay, first on whatever page this is!

Hey, alla y’alls! Got the grandkids over today–both the cute two footed one and the black, also cute, four foots model as well.

Got a call back from a local courier company that’s looking for an independent contract driver with a van (that’s me!) to take on a regular Columbia Gorge run and I’m going in on Monday to discuss it with them. If they’re offering enough $$ to make it worth my while I’m gonna be MOBILE AGAIN, BAYBEE! Yeah, Gorge weather sucks in winter but what the hell… I can get chains and I have really good tires on the G-ride. It’s more dealing with the semi trucks in the rain that’s a hassle. Then again, the route goes out beyond the rainshadow of the Cascades so it’s dryer out by the majority of the route, it’s just the first fifty miles or so that really sucks.

Crossed fingers, ‘kay? Himself might also have landed a tech support type job (finally!) so if we both get something we’ll be all right–stylin’, even!

Hey TimeKiller- thanks for getting the ball rolling on the good vibes! Maybe I’ll be functional by the time you get home?

Nava, Rebo and Lunch and everyone else-- thanks for the good wishes. I’m starting to feel better… 24 hour bug and all that.

Woo-hoo!

I’m through painting! Good thing, too, I just about ran out of paint! Ah’m tahred. So I’m gonna go jump in the shower, head to the grocery store and come back and make dinner! <groan> In my new pots and pans! <yippee!>

I’m glad you feel a little better, Ivory.
I see spot on the A on my keyboard. It looks suspiciously like Dusty Trail paint… hmm.

ETA: Appendages crossed!

Howdy Y’all! Home from another excitatin’ day of trainin’. I got a paycheck for three days. The fifteenth is the end of the first pay cycle in the month and I worked the 13th, 14th and 15th. What amazed me was it actually did go direct deposit! I was figurin’ I’d be handed a check cause the powers that handle all things payroll wouldn’t have enough time to get it set up but they appear to be on the ball. Also, I got a haircut.

Puggy porch cleanin’ day is tomorrow. :stuck_out_tongue:

It rained. A lot. Four and a half inches. I checked le pool when I got home and had to drain about three and a half inches of water out.

Ol’ y’all know who called a few minutes ago. He’ll be hear soon. Then it’s pancakes and sausages time. I’s hongry!

Home and relaxing here. We’re going to have the pizza kit personal pepperoni pizzas tonight for dinner. Ima gonna spiffy mine up with some mushrooms and onions too, I think. These are the kits that are sold for fundraisers, btw; we haven’t had any in a long time, so we’ll see how this batch is. I also got some Otis Spunkmeyer chocolate chip cookie dough that we taste-tested last night, and it was deeelicious. (ooh, sorry Soapy! hope you’re feeling better tomorrow!!)

Thanks for the greets from Haze, SpecialOne; I’m glad to know that she’s still thinking of us, too. We do miss her, at least I do.

I am so gonna chill out tonight.

Yeah, make sure **Haze **knows we miss her!

I think we’re going to have pizza too tonight. I’ve got a coupon for $5 at Homemade Pizza, which is a take-n-bake place. They have very YUM pizza. And I’m too tired to feel like cooking tonight.

Cup is peed in. Yeehaw.

Done for the day. **FCD **and I left work early today, just because. There was a message on my phone that my glasses were ready, so we went and picked them up, and **FCD **ordered new lenses for his. Then we decided we were hungry, so we headed to a Thai place. But it was closed, so we opted for a Mexican restaurant instead. It was our first visit to that one, and it was by far the best we’ve tried in our area. Very yum, and very reasonable prices.

We came home and tiled the floor just inside the basement door, then poured some concrete leveler in an area that had a serious dip. Now we’re in the TV mode, resting before our weekend of labor.

The kids got to SIL’s folks’ place about 10:15 last night. Daughter had a bit of a voice, but she still sounded ragged.

I woke up at 4. No reason - just up. So I’m tired. We’ll see how long I make it tonight.

I wish we’d stopped and got some ice cream on the way home - I have a hankerin’…

Happy Firday!!!

Kinda blurred my way through the last page here. Why are we peeing in cups and driving around the Cascades? I hope not both at the same time.

I came home from work early (to pick up #2 son from Outdoor Ed) and had some plans to go running. I ended up taking a nap. And now I have no ambition or energy. Oh, well. Tomorrow.
Last rec soccer game is tomorrow as well. #2 son’s team went from no wins to league’s top winner in 2 weeks: we won the Pumpkin Cup, undefeated and then won last week. We are the team to beat with one last game to go. Ha! (so says me, who has never had a kid on a winning soccer team in her life).

Have a good evening all.

Any good tips on how to ship cookies via snail mail? Daughter wants some and Mr Post Office Man suggested wrapping each cookie in bubble wrap or newspaper. Mr Post Office Man is none too bright.
