When Heroes jumped the shark? (spoilers)

I must admit, I thought it started getting much better towards the end of last season. I am intrigued to find out where they’re going with…Nathan Petrelli.

But they really need to get the f/x back on track. Nathan, Peter and Sylar fight…and we get to watch Claire watching it through a peephole? WTF?

OK, I have to watch this season, if only for 12-step Sylar, and. scaring the crap out of babies.

I think in retrospect I gave up the hope of Heroes ever getting to be truly good again with the opening episode of season three, in which Peter travelled back in time to kill his brother.

Not only was it boneheaded for a million logic and character reasons but more importantly, it was for me the first sign they were simply making this shit up as they went along. For instance, if it is Peter doing the shooting then what was up with Angela’s phonecall, for example? Who was she supposed to be talking to? Ever since then, they have introduced and dropped plotlines and characters with such abruptness and carelessness that it has got really embarrassing.

I did think things had got quite a lot better for the first half of their “Fugitives” arc but I think it all fell away dramatically over the final four or five episodes again. Like Annie, I like most of the characters so I’ve hung on in there for way longer than I should have done. I will be watching the new series but only because I’m morbidly fascinated to see just what new depths my once beloved show can plumb. :frowning:

Not so, just check out the JTS website where you’ll find with some series that many people agree on the exact moment the shark was jumped.

For Heroes, towards the end of Season 1 I detected signs that a jump might be imminent, then at the beginning of Season 2 sure enough it came.

They had already jumped the shark, but I was underwhelmed with the way they just killed off Daphne (the speedy chick); that was another interesting character killed off for no good reason. Plus doing so meant that Matt’s season long conviction that they were meant to be together was completely wrong, unless you count her last few minutes.

Also, what happened to the scene they showed at the beginning of the season where Ando appears to zap Hiro? Is that future kaput? Why? Huh?
