Catholic influence, and from remembering the Gustave Doré-illustrated Bible for Kids books from my childhood, he would look like this:
Jesus and the Woman Taken in Adultery, Gustave Doré
Bearded younger man, long hair, robes
I don’t picture anything but I automatically add the words “damn republicans.”
George Burns.
Fire and brimstone being hurled. But He loves you.
Eh, that’s rather unfair to Q. He’s more like the Greek gods; arrogant, treats mortals like toys. He doesn’t have the sheer relentless nastiness that the God of the Bible does, nor does he demand worship or condemn people to eternal torment.
I picture a non-gender-specific asshole.
I literally picture the God in the Simpsons, right down to the fact that you only see the lower quarter of his face. I’m an atheist though, so I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about God.
As an atheist, I always picture Rebecca from “D” tower in Heathman Hall, in my junior year at URI. Even with her slightly lazy eye, she remains to this day the most perfect being I have ever witnessed.
Oh, Rebecca, where art thou?
And what the hell was your last name???!!! Google doesn’t work without last names, damn it!!!
I like the God featured in the Far Side “God At His Computer”-it shows a white bearded guy watching some schlub walking under a (falling) piano. God id pressing the key marked “smite”.
As soon as the question registered in my head the image Kratos from God of War sprung out. I pictured him dropping from the sky wielding an over sized flaming sward. Maybe thats because Im a bit of a gamer or maybe its just word association.
Why is there so much confusion when God plainly reveals what He looks like in The Holy Bible? Read Genesis 1:26-27 which states, “Then God said, Let us make man in our image, in our likeness…So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” If we know what men and women look like, then we know what God looks like. He has a head with hair, eyes, nose, ears, mouth. A body with arms, hands, fingers, legs with feet and toes. To understand why God said let US make man in OUR image, read John 1:1, which states, " In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was WITH God, and the Word WAS God. He was with God in the beginning." Here it is revealed that there are currently TWO persons in the God family, not three. Here is proof that God is NOT a trinity. Every person who has ever lived will have a chance, in the future, to become a member of the God family. If you would like to know how God looks right now, in their glorified state in heaven, read Revelation 1:12-16. A most awesome sight! For more Truth go to, theTrumpet.com and Understand Your World.
Ah, godspam.
I picture Zeus. Not because I believe in Greek Mythology obviously, but because I grew up reading all the different Greek myths and they serve (to some extent) the same purpose. I’ve always thought the whole ‘Christ as human-deity via earth woman and godly father figure’ idea was a result of Greek influence on Judaic theology.
A+
But does God have a penis or a vulva?
I’ve heard of Trinitarians and Unitarians before, but never of Dualitarians!
The Butthole Surfers.
I want a computer with a “smite!” key.
