You don’t have to be Jewish to love [del]Levy’s[/del] Hebrew National.
It’s one of the few foods I cannot stand to eat, so more than 10 years ago.
Last night
I live in NYC and have two daughters who like dogs so we often partake, either from carts or Papaya King/Dog/whatever places. I don’t think we’re ever more than 100 yards from some sort of hot dog establishment.
Funny, I was just in Frankfurt last week and I had a frankfurter. It was consistent with a run-of-the-mill American hot dog, which was somewhat surprising (I guess it shouldn’t be, but I was kind of expecting something a little better than that).
I only bit my cousin’s weinie twice last night at a concert.
Does that count?
I had one last week at a cookout. I eat them periodically, though not as much as I used to. I prefer turkey franks and cheap hot dogs (the kind like you get at the movies, for example). “Gourmet” hot dogs are kind of wasted on me. And I eat them plain, with just a bun.
Tonight.
I had one tonight too! I am not a big fan, I really have to be in a mood. I like to stick mine on a fork and hold it over the flame on the gas burner until it’s slightly charred.
I got the bun-length OMs, nothing special but at least not those gross red generic ones. Those I cannot stomach. I had mine tonight with mustard and relish with a side of curly fries and a slice of watermelon. My daughter said it’s like a picnic only in the house.
Yep, one for lunch here today. Now that I think of it, I probably have hot dogs on the order of at least one a week if we’re counting in-house dogs. I was just thinking of fast food dogs when I answered the poll. And quite often, like today, I just did the whole poor-man’s-hot-dog-bun thing by wrapping a slice of white/Italian bread around my wiener instead of using a proper bun.
My favorite hotdog is Nathan’s Famous, but I think I’m going to have to give them up. I just read about a closed door fundraiser hosted by the guy who owns the company, and the fundraiser was for his “best friend” Donald Trump, and a group called Trump Victory.
Hebrew National hotdogs, here I come.
I just had a turkey dog today from Dog Haus. It’s good, but the veggie sausage is actually better.
I almost ate one yesterday.
There aren’t any real hot dog places around here, but I’ll get a chili cheese dog from Sonic maybe once a month. If I’m making them at home it’ll be brats or something along those lines.
If you ever come through Topeka, Kansas, stop at Top Dog.
Only dedicated hot dog place in town. The picture of the place isn’t good, but check out the pictures of the hotdogs. I eat there about once a week.
Just chiming in to say I one for lunch today. Was nice.
Yep. We have both in the freezer, but Nathan’s will never get another dime from me. Ever.
I bought a chili dog from Rally’s last week. It was very good.
I’d been craving one since this thread appeared a few weeks ago.
