My late 80’s Pioneer home stereo component single-disk CD player has been skipping uncontrollably on the first track for years despite use of a laser lens cleaning disk.
When it began skipping out of contol on track two the other day and I couldn’t find my laser lens cleaning disk to save my life, I ordered a new one on ebay (for $4.95 including S/H (bargain!))
After the first try with the new disk, the skipping on track one (and two) stopped completely! I was so overjoyed. Now I can listen to every track on CD’s!
Then a couple of days later when I had to move my stereo cabinet (umph!) I found the old disk on the floor under the cabinet.
Anyone need a laser lens cleaning disk that doesn’t work on track one?
Seriously, have you run into a situation where losing a possession became a good thing?
