When negotiating an agreement...

What is your approach to negotiating a contract or agreement which typically contains multiple sections, generally unrelated, but common in theme to the said agreement?

Do you make changes to several sections at once or do you settle on one section before moving to the next?

Is there an advantage to doing one or the other and what might that be?

Off the top of my head, would doing the one at a time approach be usefull when hedging on being flexible (or not) in subsequent sections? If so, why not just say, “I’ll give you A if you give me B”?.
