Yes, she was awful, and absolutely the wrong choice for the world-wise career gal. Brandon Roush channeled Reeves pretty well however.

Yeah, i’ve always thought that any intelligent person could’ve spent five minutes with the Supes Comes Back script and made it twice the movie it was. Recast Lois Lane (older and tougher), and apply some basic physics (and logic), and you’ve got a … super movie.
I’ve always wanted to see a movie about when Lex Luthor is elected President. Supes feels duty-bound to follow his orders but is uneasy about what Lex is really up to, and starts digging around to find out. Could make for a good political thriller with a superhero gloss.
As long as Batman doesn’t show up. The Dark Knight Strikes Again was terrible.
