I’m interested to see how many charter members will have signed up by April 21st.
Some are pessimistically guessing a few hundred. I am betting on 2000 or more, with an outside shot at 3000.
Ed Zotti said in another thread that there were more than 1000 on the first day alone. So I guess 3000 doesn’t even come close, even though the first day will probably stay the best.
Actually, 3000 will come pretty close, since there were only about 3500 active members before the pay conversion, IIRC.
According to Ed Zotti, that 3500 figure was from November 2002. We’re at roughly 7000 actives now:
I waited till the second day to sign up, because I wanted to see if other posters were able to join without too much difficulty, before making my attempt. Signing up took me a matter of seconds, no problems.
I’m wondering how many other posters are waiting until glitches are worked out to join, or are keeping guest status till the very end of the month. I’m guessing there will be another spike right before the price goes up, though not as big as the first day.
I’d also like to know how many of us signed up by April 21st. I’m thinking it will exceed 2500. $4.95 is a total bargain.
