Two weeks ago, on Friday, I had an interview. I had thought that everything went well, we talked for over an hour. The interviewer told me that he had two other people to talk to the next Monday. He also told me that they were hoping to make a decision last week. After my interview I sent out a thank you email Sunday.
However, one of the other people in my office had an interview as well. I know that the interviewer was sick that Monday so didn’t have the interviews. Then Wednesday it snowed and while we didn’t have off, not everyone came in. My co-worker had his interview on Monday. I’m guessing that all the interviews are done now.
I don’t know when, or if I should call back. This is a government job across town and neither I nor my co-worker know anyone in the office. I’ve only ever spoken to them once. I know that once I had an interview and they wanted me, but lost my contact information so I didn’t get a call for a month. This however, is the government and I know how they work, they can take months to hire someone.
No one seems to know what I should do, call, or let them call me. I was under the impression that he would call me regardless, but I don’t want to chance that. So what is the norm? I haven’t had an interview in eight years so I really don’t know.
