Followup to previous thread: Waiting on a job...

A while back, I asked for opinions on whether I should call back an employer who’d promised they’d get back to me within a couple of days, but did not. You all did, I did, and as I reported, it seemed to go well. The job had not yet been filled, the word “proactive” was used in relation to me, I was a little too apologetic, but otherwise it appeared to go okay. I foolishly didn’t extract a promise to be contacted when things came together, but I thought I would be.

Well, it’s now been almost a month since that interview (wherein, I remind you, I held out hope because I was told I was pretty much the best of those who’d interviewed so far, with only one to go, with other small indications that the interviewer wanted to go with me), with no contact. I’m not inclined to call again; I’m inclined to assume I didn’t get it until they get their act together and tell me otherwise.

Is there any reason I am wrong, and should make more effort?

You should call. About once per week. Just think: what if they’d sent you a letter and were waiting on your reply? Of course, you haven’t received the letter, but they don’t know that.
