When You Can Do With Just The Chorus . When the Chorus is the Main Highlight

To my surprise I did not find that this topic has been done before. There was a thread about nice verses in songs, irrespective of whether the chorus was good or poor. Many listed songs in which the chorus sucked but the rest of the song was pretty good.

Well my thread is the polar opposite, I’m looking for your examples of when the chorus is really catchy and great, so that so you can listen to just the chorus and it would be enough. Many of the songs I like are good all around but the chorus and verses are equal, one does not outshine the other. Then sometimes the song is good, but the chorus by itself is nothing to rave about.
Other times the verses are crap but the chorus is good, or the chorus far better than the rest of the song. And we all know not all songs have choruses, does not take away from their greatness.

So which songs could you listen to only the chorus and you would feel like it’s the best part?

Examples that come to my mind are:
“Tiny Dancer”-Elton John
“Blackwater”-Doobie Brothers
“Damn I Wish I Were Your Lover”-Sophie B. Hawkins
“Mouth”-Merril Bainbridge

I thought of another one, “Do You Know What I Mean?” By Oasis.

Not quite what you’re looking for, but Handel’s Messiah has great choruses.

Tubthumping by Chumbawumba - “I get knocked down, but I get up again, you’re never gonna keep me down…” The softer versey bits just get in the way.

Well, most people, especially conservatives, only know two lines to the Boss’s Born In The USA. And those are from the chorus.

Lok, keep political jabs out of this forum. No warning issued.

The only song from this list I am familiar with is “Tiny Dancer” and I have to completely agree. In fact, trying to run the song through my head, it is all I can remember.

Tiny Dancer has a great verse.

Black Water has a beautiful verse. The chorus is that singalong thing. I always got disappointed when it came around again.

Macklemore’s “Downtown” is nothing without that chorus from Eric Nally!

“Stardust”
