OMG, that was a blast from the past, from the record label to clicking on ‘The Pushbike Song’. ![]()

How’s this one then. (sorry if I’m derailing the thread)
Which company did you use?
I ask because (adopted) my birth mother has been VERY terse when it comes to discussions of my birth father, never giving any details and always changing the subject or stonewalling me when I bring him up. She has given me two different surnames, and a few years ago only got around to telling me that he had apparently died 15 years prior (at which time she and I had known each other for several years). So I don’t know if he was a one-night stand, a celebrity that she is protecting (she was a flight attendant for a major airline when I was born), or something even worse.
It comes with lesbianism?
Turnabout is fair play: this is the one that I knew. (discourse doesn’t want me to embed this, so here’s the link instead): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=py99y2bZyQg
I remember that one too!
It’s funny, when my sister and I were kids we used to fight over who actually had the mailman for a dad because our dad was (and still is) a shit show and a half.
We were both kind of disappointed when we did 23andMe and made him take one as well, and he is our biological father.
Our stepmother and I are shocked no half siblings have popped up yet. Dad apparently was quite the skirt chaser in his high school and college days.
When I first did my DNA for genealogy, I was so excited by the implications for my research. I told anyone and everyone they should do it.
An older and wiser Cazzle now, I generally tell people “You can learn things that you’ll never be able to unlearn”.
My own immediate family checks out - our anomaly is a couple of generations back, and isn’t a surprise given the circumstances.
Friends and acquaintances have had it hit closer to home. And I’ve talked before about the second cousin match who has no recorded link to my family whatsoever… just the odd coincidence that his grandmother lived next door to my great uncle around the time his mother was born.
I think that has got to be a really old story that a whole lot of people have had fun with over the years.
(And once in a while it was true – )
