Whence this refrain?

I remember a refrain from a once popular Spanish song that sounds something like “coo coo roo coo coo”, the sound of a dove’s call.
I checked “La Paloma”, but that’s not it. I didn’t think it was, but I gave it a try.
Does that sound familiar to anyone?

I have that on a CD in the car…no bird sounds on it. :slight_smile:

ETA: not on the Geroge Baker version at least. I see Slim Whitman has a version of the song, among others.

How about “Cu Cu Ru Cu Cu Paloma” by Harry Belafonte? I grew up with that Carnegie Hall album.
