On various news sites I keep seeing stories about the latest actress or influencer wearing a naked dress or outfit to some gala or other. The stories usually have a blurred image or one covered with a a black bar. Where are these images actually found?
I’m NOT INTERESTED IN PORN SITES, just wondering where these “celebrity” photos appear in the raw, so to speak
Thanks. Don’t think I’ll be seeing any of them on the back roads here in Maine. We all wear way too many layers.
I think Mainers are too sensible to spend that much on a wear-once dress.
I think I always assumed you were in Ireland – your handle looks Irish to me.
Good observation! My paternal ancestors came from there 150 years ago and while doing some genealogy research found the phrase Fir Na Tine, which means Men of Fire. And I was a volunteer FF here in Maine for 30 years, so I adopted it for a user ID.
And you’re right about our thrifty ways - I am currently wearing my favorite flannel shirt circa 1980.
But is it a naked flannel shirt?
Oh, cool! And, thanks for volunteering!
The real question is, does anybody wear this stuff in public in real life? The elite levels of fashion seems like a whole other world.
Absolutely, celebrities do, to public events like red-carpet premieres, award shows, the Met Gala, etc.; that’s where all the photos in @RitterSport 's links are taken. Possibly to fancy invitation-only events, as well.
Well, yes, it is, and for most of us plebeians, we aren’t ever going to see someone in person, walking around in a $50,000 “naked dress.”
Absolutely - I’ve seen plenty of Goth girls in mesh/fishnet/lace dresses exactly like cheap versions of those - usually in black of course.
That’s good. Sometimes I suspect that the fashion industry is some closed off elitism, other times I am reassured that all the trends in fashion do stem from real designers making real, if arbitrary, decisions, and not just random zeitgeists carried by a breeze.
Not sure how much is high end designers->streetwear and how much is streewear->designers. Goths have been wearing “naked”-style lace and mesh dresses for as long as I’ve been one. One of the kick-offs for the last round of the trend was Rose mcGowan wearing something from Marylin Manson’s fashion line, and I’m pretty sure that fuck was just ripping off lesser-known Goth clothiers.
Oh, I see, I post a link with naked dresses and suddenly I earn “Popular Link”. You all disgust me!

You’d understand if you could see what I’m wearing right now.
Hey, post a link, maybe you’ll get a badge.
I checked. There’s no “Eyes Gouged Out” badge.
I was under the impression that many of these red carpet style dresses were on loan from the designer for the publicity. “Starlet Hollywood was seen on the red carpet wearing this scandalous nude dress by…”
This is getting beyond my knowledge of high fashion.
I asked my personal “fashionista” the Lil’wrekker, about these so-called ‘naked’ dresses.
She says: “Oxy-MORON-ic”!
What a paradox.
I am Mixdenny and I approve this trend.
