Since we went to subscription, it seems like housekeeping has relaxed. There are threads in MPSIMS that should be in Cafe Society, pointless musings in GQ, I’ve seen a rant or two in IMHO too.
Has policy changed since people now pay? Just wondering.
I know the Mods have real lives they must address, but shouldn’t we come first (just kidding)
Well, I got my thread moved to IMHO, and it would have done better left in MPSIMS.
I wanted some help deciding about buying a kiln. Unfortunately, the title I picked sounded sort of like a survey, so I suppose it was justified. In a while, when I’m closer to a decision, I’ll try again in MPSIMS and use a different title.
But the mods are there, all right, moving things around.
I think the proper forum is always a judgement call, often a subtle personal interpretation, so you and I may be confused by their decisions to move or not move.
And for the record, before you posted, there were 4 moves on the forum list for MPSIMS and 3 on this forum.
The mods do sometimes disagree on whether to move a post or not. Lines are often fuzzy. And even an individual mod may feel one way on one day, and another way on another day, when we’re in that fuzzy gray area.
In some forums, the mods do not have time to read every post or every thread. It’d be a 24/7 job. We rely on members to send an email reporting anything that may need moderator attention, include a thread in the wrong forum. This ain’t new, we’ve always had too much to read and never had enough time to read it.
Maybe I was just grumpy this morning. I couldn’t find the coffee this morning. Thanks for the replies.
** C K Dexter Haven** I’ll do that next time.
I keep thinking that this calls for a Sondheim song:
Send in the Mods,
There’s got to be Mods,
Don’t bother, they’re here.
