Now that I’ve got your attention…
Cafe Society and the Game Room have two mods each, which is certainly enough for dealing with whatever minimal bad behavior needs attention in those forums. I have observed that those two (four) mods are often away from the Boards for long, long stretches. (Yes, I do understand that they have lives, this is a volunteer positions, etc.)
Even though their presence isn’t usually needed urgently for refereeing outbreaks of unruliness, another mod function is moving threads to more appropriate forums. Sometimes it would be nice if that could happen a wee bit more briskly. It doesn’t really bother me when 24 hours go by between my reporting a thread that should be moved and its getting moved – except, of course, when it’s my thread.
Yesterday afternoon I started a thread about showbiz comebacks. For no reason other than my own carelessness, this went into the Game Room instead of Cafe Society, and I realized immediately what I’d done. I reported my own post (thanks for enabling that, BTW) and asked that it be moved to the correct forum. It still hasn’t been moved, presumably because neither of the Game Room mods has been online since then.
Would it be possible for “flag this post” emails to be routed in some other way so that more than the mods specifically handling that forum get them?
