Where Are You? (Online World Map of Dopers)

East Brunswick, NJ (New Brunswick is close enough.)

VA Beach, Virginia…

Houston, Texas, USA.

I see robgruver’s already checked in - there’re at least twenty or so of us here.

Demo, you may want to shorten my name to brachy.

Aurora, CO, USA

Great Idea!

Shit. Lots. of. people…

OK, trying to keep up. I’m up to brachy now. pssst, bracchy, psycat is from South River. You guys were practically neighbors!

I have a chat scheduled now, but I’ll catch up tonight. (if I’m not too hammered by then. If not, tommorrow night. Geez, my threads usually get two replies, then die. I wasn’t expecting this type of turnout. I may have to switch fonts or maps or something and start over. We’ll see. Anyway, I’ll try to keep up, folks. thanks for the replies. Hopefully you’ll see an update (if you’re after brachy) later this eve, or tommorrow if you check it.

Oh yeah, I’ll save this to another folder. That way, if I get really toasted tonight, and you live in Tokyo, but you see your name in Iceland, I’ll be able to fix it tommorrow.

Hey Demo! Are you doing this by hand or via software?

Demo, just a sugestion.

That map is going to get pretty full, now matter what size font you use.

You might consider just putting stars in teh appropriate location and image mapping the stars with pop-up text that lists the name of the person/people at that location.

obfusciatrist (obfus is fine) and baglady: Oakland, CA.

Zyada, ummm, yes? I’m using PSP to label the names on a jpg.

obfus, errr, image map? You’re talkin’ to a rookie here, dude.

Jacksonville Florida checking in

should be on any map, but its right where the 30 North parallel crosses the east coast of Fla.

Say, obfusciatrist, for Demo’s sake can you clear up just how to do that really neat-sounding pop-up thing?

and Demo, plenty of fluids (without alcohol) to flush out the toxins …

From other threads, I know there are a bunch of us in FLA, including at least one (FireTiger) in Jacksonville, too.

Middletown, Ohio
Sw corner between Cincinnati and Dayton.

(You can just call me Mermaid :p)

Wow Obfusciatrist–that sounds like a great idea. Will it include a numbered index with each star given a number?. Or is that what you meant already. I’ll still pretty ignorant when it comes to computer lingo.

I suggested to Obfus he clear up his idea, before reading that Demo is a “rookie”

Every time an Iguana cries, I’ll be there. Every time someone’s tired as hell, and not gonna shake it anymore, I’m with them. Every time a TV falls from the back of a truck, I’m all over it. Uh, the TV, that is. Not the truck.

So, to make a long story short, my location is inside a cardboard box, in an alleyway, in between a couple of dumpsters.

The lighting kinda sucks, but it’s moist. And that rat over there is my favorite.

Hey, Dem!

I’m just a bit outside Chapel Hill, NC. But I still own a house in Oxford, MS, and miss it a whole lot and might go back… then again, I might just start wandering around Mexico…

Ah, hell, just put Chapel Hill.

Thankyavurrymush.

Prospect Heights, IL. It’s in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.

Central York County, Maine, near Sanford.

Demo, this is a fantastic resource, and all credit to you for not just thinking of it but going right ahead and doing it.

Just one little thing: could you adjust my arrow so it actually points at Dublin and not at generic-Ireland-somewhere-around-Kilkenny?

Hey, I’ve just noticed I’m the furthest north on the map (so far). Any advance on 53N?

Auburn, Alabama.

Lexington, Kentucky
