I’m thinking of getting another piercing soon… this time, something simple like a cartiledge piercing. This got me wondering… how many of you are pierced, and where?
All in all, I have 4 right now…my first was when I was 13- the left ear. I don’t think that one counts, though, since most kids get their ear(s) done at some point in their life. But we’ll call that the first one.
My second piercing was last November, a month after my 18th
birthday. I got a Prince Albert. Dunno why. I just wanted one. I like it.
My third was a month and a half later right after Christmas of last year; I got my tongue pierced. This one was the result of a night of boredom, myself and a bunch of friends sitting around with nothing to do, a dare, and $50. Suffice it to say, I really like it.
My latest piercing was Saturday night. Again, primarily because I was bored; but also because I had been considering it for a while and decided to try it out. I went with a couple friends and had my right eyebrow pierced. The piercist said that most people get their left eyebrow done, which was odd because I usually see people with their right one done. Meh.
For all of them, except the ear, I’ve used the same shop and same piercist. She’s awesome.
And if that wasn’t mundane and pointless, I don’t know what is.
My best friend (male) has plugs the size of half dollars, bullring in the nose, large diameter horseshoes in top of each ear, smaller horseshoes in nipples, a labret, and a very large Prince Albert. (He also has gorgeous irezumi sleeves)
My best friend (female) has left eyebrow, labret, tongue, nipples, 4 silver rings in each ear, and the ugh… her southern region is also pierced.
People stare at them everywhere we go, but both are strikingly beautiful and most stares are admiring. Both are artists and have little trouble finding work in thier chosen field, but might have problems in a more conservative work environment.
I have a cartilage in both ears. Four more below in the left ear and two in the right. My nose is pierced on the right side so I get to hear a lot of booger jokes and total strangers have the deep seated need to ask me how I pick my nose…
I have been thinking of either a lip or eyebrow… but cant decide. grapple, grapple
A PA? mmmmmmm
Right now I have 3 in each ear and one tongue ring. I used to have my left eyebrow pierced, but the piercing migrated out both times I had it done, so I gave up on that. I want to get my labaret done, but I work for the State in California and a whole bunch of us are about to get laid off, so I don’t want a visible piercing like that when I am about to have to job search.
Right ear, cartilege. Had this one done about 21 months ago, when I was backpacking with friends in Queensland. I work in a fairly conservative office environment, so I don’t wear an ear ring at work. (I could get away with it, but I prefer not to.)
Right nipple. This I had done just three weeks ago, when I was in the US. Fortunately, my business shirt pocket covers my right man boobie, so it’s hidden from view. It shows through tighter shirts, so I’m not sure how I’m going to deal with playing sport at work.
Again, I could get away with it, but I’d prefer not to be known as the young bloke with the nipple piercing.
3 each ear lobe
1 right upper ear cartilege
2 nipples
1 belly button
Never had a bit of trouble with any of them except the belly button. I have decided that the belly button is the asshole of body piercings. I’ve had it since June and it is nothing but trouble. It will seem nearly healed then all of a sudden it’s red and irritated again. The only reason I don’t take the ring out and let it heal is that I am just too stubborn.
Earlobes, two cartilage in the left ear, and left eyebrow. I got the top cartilage first, I think when I was 15, and then about a year ago, right after I got my driver’s license at 19, got the lobes and the other cartilage done. Got the eyebrow this past April. Got it done once, it migrated out in less than two weeks, so I waited a month and got it re-pierced at a much better place and I’ve been happy with it ever since. There’s two threads around here somewhere about that, one when I was asking for opinions on whether or not I should get it, then a second with pictures after it was done.
Right now I’m thinking about getting either some sort of industrial or some sort of orbital in my right ear, to balance out my head a little, as I’ve got 4 on the left side and only one on the right. I’ve also been thinking about a nipple piercing, because I think that would be really hot, but am afraid I’d a)be way too afraid of the pain and possible infection or b) be way too afraid to have some random piercer guy taking my boob and poking needles at it, so… I dunno.
I’ve got two in each earlobe and one outer cartilage.
I got three of them a couple months ago, allegedly to get over an old fear of needles. It worked, but these things are a pain in the ass, the two original lobe piercings I had are visibly crooked, and I’m wondering why I got any of them in the first place.
Right where I left them, I think. Why? Did I drop one? Did you find it?
I have one in each ear, and I’ve thought for most of my life about having my nose done someday (one of my favorite people in the world when I was a kid was a beautiful Indian friend of the family, who had hers pierced. She is also the reason I wear saris). But I have terrible allergies and am worried that I’d either infect the hole with all that snot, or sneeze out good nose-rings all the time.
Anyone with nose-piercing-while-allergic experience have any good news for/me
emilyforce I AM your woman… in the strictest platonic sense of course.
My nose is pierced and I have god awful allergies. The ring really doesnt interfere in my ability to sneeze my freakin head off. And if you get the small hinged hoops they move easily when you blow. AND they dont get caught on terry cloth towels when you dry your faceswears LOUDLY I havent had the other nostril get infected but maybe with a “bullring” pierce you might mine is in the right nostril. Actually my nose is my lowest maintenance piercing.
I have 5 in my left ear and 3 in my right and my tongue. The third hole on each ear holds a tongue ring. Those were done by my best friend w/ a safety pin and a towel to bite on…(i know i know). He also did one of the cartilages on the left ear (its done twice one at top one in the middle sort of). :dubious:
I have my belly button and my nipples done. I just got these over the course of about a month and a half. I was always afraid of the pain but once I did it, I found out it didn’t hurt that much. I was expecting unbearable pain getting my nipples done, but it was about the same amount as my belly button (hurts girls less btw). Overall, my nipples have been much easier to take care of and healed better than my belly button. My belly button was the first thing I got done and it won’t even begin to heal, it still looks exactly the way it did when I first got it.
Got none - never wanted one - never intend to get any. Just reading this thread gave me the heebie-jeebies.
When my daughter got her ears pierced for the first time, she went with her dad to get them done in the mall. I headed off in the opposite in the mall, so I didn’t see any of it, but I still got woozy just thinking about it. She has since gotten a second hole in each ear - again, she went with Dad.
I get lightheaded when I get blood drawn at the doctor’s office - ain’t no way I’m going to voluntarily poke metal into my skin on a regular basis. <shudder>
Got the first one done when I was 17, which was naughty since my parents had told me I could get any piercings I wanted once I was 18 but not before. But since they let my brother pierce his ear at 16, and since I had been threatening a nose ring, they were OK with that.
Got one on either side of it (vertically) just last month, 10 years later. Not sure why, I’d just been hankering for something to spice things up, and I’m holding out on getting another tattoo for various reasons, so that was a quick and easy bit of a fix. And I wear them to work, and no one has said a peep.
