Where are your piercings?

I got my ears done when I was about 13, and my belly button done when I was 15 or 16. I wouldn’t get any more though.

Left nipple. Got it on spring break in high school while quite drunk and stoned. amazingly, I’ve never regretted it.

7 - down from 10 max. Currently I have 2 “normal” ones in each ear - right ear also has a tragus, left ear also has a high cartilage and a conch. I used to have both nipples done, but I took them out after someone almost broke a tooth - also, they never quite healed (though they looked great). Also had an eyebrow once upon a time, but that took about 3 weeks to migrate out, and looked stupid to boot.

Just a hint on the cartilage piercings - I use tragus (flat backed) studs, at least until they are fully healed. This keeps the holes from pulling, catching the backs in your hair, all that stuff. Also, it’s easier to sleep with them. Mine never got infected and healed quickly because they weren’t constantly irritated.

Oddly enough, seven. Four in the left ear, two in the right, and my belly button. I haven’t worn more than two earrings since May of 1997 (Junior Prom).

Two in each earlobe and one cartilege on the left side. That one’s being a pain right now – literally – because I haven’t worn anything in it for a couple of years, but a couple of days ago I got a new gold ring (as a kid I was sensitive to anything but gold, and while I can get away with non-gold earrings in the lobes now I don’t quite trust that hole) and put it in. The ear looks fine, it’s just that if I bump the ring, OWIEEEE! I’m assuming this will go away once it realizes that I’m not kidding and am leaving the earring in. I’m cleaning it like I just got it done to be safe.

I’ve gotten my right nostril pierced twice. It never gave me the slightest problem. The cartilege piercing in my left ear took six months to quit hurting, but my nose seems fairly invulnurable. It’s closed now, and if I ever got it done again I’d get the other side pierced.

My piercings are all on Vincent Vega’s smack dealer’s wife.

Three current:

Left Nipple
Right Nipple - 2nd time, first one migrated out.
Prince Albert

I’ve had my tongue pierced for about 6 months but really hated it, had to take it out to restore my sanity.

MRRRRRRROOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW!!!

MY KINDA MAN!

and those eyes! swoons again

Both ears, 11mm plugs.

Did have my nose pierced, but, it was such a pain having to take it out for work, that I just gave it up.

Pierced my left nipple by myself five years ago, but after a year and a half, it migrated out.

Want left and right tragi pierced, but, the work-removal factor impedes…

Anybody have any brandings?

Self-induced?

Three. One in each earlobe (when I was 12) and one in my left cartiledge (when I was 16).

I am unfamiliar with this terminology! What is a “Prince Albert”? “Conch”? I think I have an idea of what “migrated out” means, but I’m not exactly sure.

Ah! I meant “cartilage”! I’m a good speller! Really, I am!

Three, my tongue (stud), my lower lip and my nose (both rings). I love each one like a child :stuck_out_tongue:

three in each ear, the bottoms stretched to 6 gauge. And the nipples. and ralph124c I know mine add something to my pleasure! All this talk of migration has made me nervous. I’ve had them in for a month. I just have a terrible fear they’ll reject. Someone please reassure me that they’ve been in too long without trouble to do it now?! Technically I shouldn’t have them done at all because I"m 17 and (at least all the local places I went) won’t pierce a girl untill she’s 18 even with parental consent. Hooray for holidays!

I have no idea on “conch” or Migrated out" But a PA?Prince Albert is a penile piercing. I am sure you can find plent of pics online if you put Prince Albert into Google. I started a thread in GD about a year ago about PAs. That may give you some history.

Ah, that was actually what I guessed, but I wisely decided not to google.

I have my belly-button done, and I’m thinking about getting my cartilage done. Any thoughts?

I stand to be corrected, but IIRC a “conch” piercing is on that inside part of the ear, shaped somewhat like a shell. It’s that little protruding nub of cartilege which (if you were a guy) would be closest to your sideburns.

Monica: I’d say go for it! Cartilege piercings don’t hurt much, they’re relatively cheap and they’re (generally) able to be removed without leaving permanent marks on your body, if you don’t like the look.

Mine hurt like a son of a bitch!
The first one I had NEVER healed and after a year I took the damned thing out. I had both ears done this spring… god damn! NEVER NEVER rip your hooded sweatshirt off right afterwards… the boy learned new swear words that day. But this time they are healing better. So try it… you can always pull them out if it isnt right for you.

Two questions:

  1. Is anyone who has anything other than ears pierced (or nostril, since that’s a traditional female piercing in some parts of the world) over the age of 40?

  2. For those of you with nipple rings, do they carry heat? The reason I ask is that when we were in Japan and going to the bathhouse, an American friend had a nipple pierced, and we all agreed she probably shouldn’t go into the sauna (which was about 160°, I kid you not, that thing was HOT) because – well, OUCH! Were we right, do you think?
