I need a set of angel wings for a party but I can’t think of where to buy them. I called my local Party City and the guy I spoke to has something, but I have a feeling it’s for a child. I’ll go to the store anyway and check it out.
I’m even up for suggestions of how to make the wings at home. I’m thinking I’ll make a halo out of a headband and pipe cleaners anyway.
Newbury Comics had them around Halloween, though I’m not sure about now. You might want to try a place like Hot Topic. I’ve seen black angel wings in there, and I beleive the sell white as well. If not, ask one of the sales-kids, they might know. Many places that sell goth-like clothes will also sell angel wings in different colors.
If you decide to make them yourself, make sure you start with some sort of sturdy way to fasten them to your body. Don’t think that you can just pin them to a T-shirt.
You could probably make something that’s suggestive of wings with coat hanger wire and butcher paper, and perhaps draw some sort of feather texture on. It depends if you want a costume that suggests wings, or actually looks like real wings.
Um…I probably should have considered that Pierre Silber is a lingerie and high-heels-for-men store. There’s no nudity on the linked page, but mods, please delete the link if it’s inappropriate.
Party City had some for adults a few months ago. They were huge! My daughter bought maroon and black ones, but they had white ones too, for about twenty bucks.
They are beautiful but really heavy! They had some smaller adult ones with netting and wire that ran a bit cheaper and lighter.
I wish I could remember the name of the vendor, but a booth at our local Renaissance Festival last fall had some that were hangers bent around with tinted nylon (possibly stockings?) wrapped around them and then decorated.
I have a nice pair of feathered wings you can have for the shipping cost. They’re adult-sized, smooth cardboard on the side that goes against your body, feathered on the outside. Elastic for around the shoulders.
