Where can I find a conservative leaning message board?

Cite?

So, you must know of some right-leaning boards that are not wholly gun oriented. I’m not interested but the OP is…

For starters, most nationally-syndicated talk show hosts are libertarian or conservative, and most have message boards (e.g. Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Clark Howard).

Uh Stormfront.org?

Because those who do not learn from the mistakes of the past are condemned to repeat them.

Jobs that apparently give them time off from noon to 3pm every afternoon when Rush Limbaugh is on.

Seriously, how does Rush have such a huge audience during that time slot, if the conservatives are all at work?

You can find good message boards, and you can find conservative message boards where you can talk about political issues in general.

But there’s much more groupthink on the right than on the left these days. You really can’t be a pro-choice conservative anymore, or a conservative that believes in human-caused global warming, or a conservative who believes in Keynesian economics, or a conservative who believes universal health care would be a good thing, or a conservative who believes that liberalizing immigration from Latin America would be a good thing, or…or…or.

I joined Redstate a number of years ago, just to see how well librul arguments held up in such an environment, and I really never got the chance to find out, because I was quickly banned for fairly mild disagreement with the party line.

Maybe there’s a place that’s better than that, but I really doubt it.

You must have missed the part in the OP where he indicated he wanted a good message board, not a bord populated by complete nutjobs and racist assholes.

Maybe, but America isn’t the whole world. There are conservatives outside America.

Yeah, damn liberals opposing the teaching of evolution! Makes me sick!
Plus those liberals always want to peek in everyone’s bedroom to make sure they’re only having sex the way God intended! What nerve! Fuckers even got us mired in 2 wars!

yep - liberals suck!

More to the point ‘American conservatives’ as commonly defined aren’t conservatives. They’re reactionaries.

A conservative wants to keep things pretty much the way they are, with, at most, incremental change. Mainstream Democrats, in American political discourse, are conservatives.

A reactionary wants to go backwards, undoing some social and economic change. Mainstream Republicans are reactionaries, for wanting to undo the Great Society and New Deal and other social welfare programs instituted decades ago.

Notice how there is no mainstream political party for progressives, people who want faster change, in this country. I certainly have.

Derleth makes a great point.

And Quartz, I never said that America was the whole world. I am VERY thankful for that fact. As much as I love America, and I really do, I am glad that we have a diversity of opinions around the world.

I hope you realize I was being facetious. Reread my post.

Beautifully said.

If you don’t care for Freerepublic.com (and there’s many good reasons why anyone wouldn’t) you could try Trueblueliberty.com. Also, many of the conservative newsblogs listed at The Drudge Report have accompanying online discussions on their articles and topics of the day.

Whooshed again.
I’ll learn one day…

Expanding briefly on what I said back on page one about subreddits, Reddit does indeed have an /r/conservative subreddit. An analysis of its general quality I leave to you good folks.

Ah, the old false equivalence routine; defenders of the Right constantly pull that one. Probably because the positions of the Right are so indefensible, and because the Right has become so utterly worthless & destructive that there’s nothing left positive to say for it. So rather than trying to defend the indefensible, they try to pretend that there’s no difference between them and their opposites.

No, both sides are not “just as bad”. Both sides are not equally in denial of reality, equally fanatical, equally amoral, equally uncaring for the welfare of the country, or equally extreme. It’s the Right that comes out the worse in all of those comparisons, by far.

And the hallmark of modern American liberalism is its near nonexistence.

Bookmarked for later analysis, thanx

That list of internet forums ranked by size posted previously (Big Boards) is really something. How can the 16th biggest forum on the entire internet be ‘A bulletin board dedicated to horses (in dutch)’?

A train of though described most elegantly by the great Paul Reubens when he quoth, “I know you are, but what am I?”
