Where can I watch Star Trek TNG now-a-days?

Si Fi seems to only show it at random, and their web site shows no listings that I could find. is there a network that still shows re-runs?

Thanks.

I believe Spike TV has an exclusive contract for the show.

Spike TV --the Network For Men carries it.

Of course, if you’re a girl, you’re not allowed to watch.

I thought Spike TV was running Deep Space Nine now.

They are. I believe they’ll start with Voyager either in 2005 or 2006.

They (well, TNT) paid over $350 million for all three series.

Don’t watch it! It hasn’t ‘aged well’, IMO (Other than Best of both Worlds, of course). I prefer to retain the happy memories that I have of that show…

Spike TV shows it at 1, 6, and 7 Central time. Some of those are repeats.

The prime years (Seasnon Five and Six) are both still watchable although I admit the other five have lost something over the years… especially the first three. Some of those episodes make me cringe.

Boy, talk about “Ask and ye shall receive”

It so happens we get the Testosterone Network, I thought they only showed stuff for the Mullet set though.

I don’t care. I missed several years of the show, now that I have a chance to catch up, I can’t seem to find it. Further, I like Star Trek very much, but I have no geeky reputation to protect - nor do I know enough about it to tell you what episode is from what year. I can see the character development from year to year, and can say “Oh, yeah, this is an earlier show”, but that’s about it. I just like it. Any season is cool with me, though I think the later shows are better then the earlier ones, I like them all just the same.

Nooze I can abuse. Thank you very much! (Even if you are a girl! )

I don’t care enough about the show to a point where it actually provokes a physical response, (Cringe, Vomit, Tear my clothes, rip my hair out, go on the net and comment about how one episode or another brought new meaning to the word “BAD”), like some people I know, But I can say some episodes were better then others. In the end I like to watch them all. (and I suspect you do too.)

It’s a good thing I don’t have any money to speak of right now, because I found out you can BUY all the seasons on DVD. No, No, I’m not a geek, Really.

I think the quality of the show tended to correlate to the size of Riker’s beard.

I’d peg the “prime years” at seasons 3 and 4 personally. Five was decent, but six was noticeably bad.

Spike actually has some good stuff on it, not just for the mullet set. There’s the strangely addictive Joe Schmo 2, Star Trek and, of course MOST EXTREME ELIMINATION CHALLENGE!

Of course, the entire series is also available on DVD for purchase. In addition, a local video store (or Netflix) may carry them for rental as well.

Character development? Most of the characters were incredibly static. Riker, Crusher, Troi and LaForge hardly seemed the least bit different from the first season to the last. Picard changed a little after his assimilation, I suppose, but not a lot. The only ones who really seemed to be different individuals by the end of the series were Data, Wesley and Worf.

I loved the series during its run and I love catching reruns, by the way. I’m not trying to denigrate the show; I’m just trying to honestly point out its flaws.

Seasons Three and Four were when it finally hits its stride and was getting good but in my opinion, it didn’t peak until halfway through S4 and managed to plateau at that level until the beginning of S7 where it started declining, but not to the point it was at in S1 and S2.

I’ll still gladly watch most any episode not produced in the 80s though.

It’s only Star Trek. Not some mega-long running Broadway show or some Oscar award-winning piece of cinematic brilliance. Star Trek. While the characters were pretty much of limited detentions throughout the show, you have to admit that as time went by the actors became more comfortable. Data became less robot-like, Wesley went through puberty, Worf’s forehead seemed to have retracted, Diana gained weight and got a boob job. That’s what I meant. Even Barney the freakin` dinosaur’s character developed over time. Sheesh.

I’m glad to hear that, I cheerfully ignore its MANY flaws simply because its fun to watch. It is certainly nothing I would ever waste my time debating the artistic merits of. When I wrote “character development”, I was speaking of obvious visual, physical and body language queues, that give me a clue as to what point in the shows history a given episode was filmed. “Oh look, Data jerks his head around and hardly blinks, must be the first season”. That kind of thing.

I’m just gonna have to trust you on that one.

I found that out a while ago. And yes, I’m proud to be a geek.
