Where Could Someone Purchase a Large Amount of Twinkies in Vegas?

So this is really more of a Mundane Pointless Stuff I Must Ask, but as the title goes: where could one purchase about 70-80 Twinkies (the tasty snack food) in Las Vegas if they were staying at a hotel on the strip and did not have access to a car? Its not for anything of the wink wink nudge nudge persuasion, its for an upcoming convention thingie.

Pfft, I ask the question, yet I’m going to be lonely next week and I don’t even get a Twinkie! :smack:

Ask the concierge to point you toward the closest couple of convenience stores. You should be able to pick them up in boxes of 10.

Some of the hotels even have stores in them, like the Palazzo/Venetian; they have a Walgreens right in the resort.

Tell me where you are staying exactly and I can tell you where the closest store is (but so can the concierge, as Cheez_Whia points out).

Going out on a limb here… I’m predicting jokes forthcoming.

If you’re staying at a high-end hotel, the concierge could probably get them *for *you.

There are Walgreens and CVS stores right on the strip too. I was there earlier this month and bought some food at the CVS.

Go outside your hotel. Look at the strip, do a 180 and walk, you’ll find something quick. 6 pack on the strip, $12, 1000 feet away, $6. Or the Walgreens/CVS.

Am I the only one who really, REALLY needs to know what the Twinkies will be used for?

Wow, thanks for all of the replies! I accidently forgot to update my email address so I didn’t realize that I had any replies or I would have come back sooner.

Unfortunately Mr. Going to Vegas Next Week has already gone to sleep for the night but I’ll ask him where he’s staying. Thanks for the offer to let him know the closest place, Snowboarder Bo! That is super friendly of you. Of course, thanks to everyone for the replies, I’ve never been to Vegas but would never imagine a Walgreens, ect on the strip.

Flatlined, I don’t even get to know what they’re for yet, he’ll tell me after his presentation or when he gets home I suppose. The good news is that for being so helpful I get a Twinkie now too. I wonder if I can trade it in for something chocolate? He usually tries to do interesting stuff at this presentations. At one he started off with a picture of our giant puppy saying, “this is my dog,” then a picture of his horse, “and this is my pony, and that was my show.” After a bit of laughter the class began.

P.S. Flatlined hope you’re feeling/doing well! We’re temporary neighbors while you’re in Houston.

And once again, my imagination was better than reality. I was thinking hookers and a rubber sheet. What happens in Vegas stays there and all.

I do like the dog and pony show idea

Stands at the window and waves at you. Holy Cow, Houston is BIG! I’m so used to my little urban area that going to Phoenix is something that I try to avoid. Phoenix is spread out, the buildings here are so tall and close together. The freeways…OMG! Thank goodness I’m not driving out there, I’d be one of those “stay in the right lane and go under the acceptable speed” which means I’d just be doing the speed limit.

Flatlined, if it makes you feel any better anything my sweet pea does ends up being a story, so I’m sure there will be many adventures in Vegas. Like when he accidently bumped into Oscar dey la Hoya* who offered to give him an autograph, and as he doesn’t pay attention to boxing he didn’t know who he was. He looked at him and thought he was a slightly chubby jockey. He said dey la Hoya was very nice about his befuddlement. (No, he didn’t say, “Who are you, a slightly chubby jockey?”)

If it makes you feel better about the lack of cows, the high school I went to had a plot of land next to it that had a few cows in it. I could see them from my senior English class. I usually see a few here & there when I’m out & about, people slap them on land for a tax break. Once I knew 2 that would come when you called their name! Oh, and the size? I literally go to the other side of town to get my hair done. Its like family there. I’m not sure what airport you came in at, but where I go is by Hobby, its an all day event … a FUN all day event.

Back to the point of the thread … oops. :smack:

Snowboarder Bo, he’s actually staying at the Venetian so happy day! I’m glad he won’t have to worry about getting them there and can just pick them up right there.

Thanks everyone for all of the help! Its good to know that Vegas has lots of places to buy Twinkies. You’ve let me be helpful (which I love) and taken a tiny bit of stress out of his upcoming adventure. (If they had a hugs smilie or one that blew kisses I would totally use it right now. )

*There was a boxing match in the hotel he was staying at.

Depending where you are on the Strip, it probably wouldn’t be too bad of a walk to the “Vegas Experience” in Downtown “oldtown”. Believe you could get a buffet of deepfried Twinkies and Oreos. Maybe a Couple of Giant Hot Dogs. Fremont Street.

Mermaid’s Casino… maybe they will sell you a case or two? Who Knows.
