So today at the doctor’s office they weighed me. I hadn’t weighed myself in a number of months, and I’ve actively been trying to lose about 10lbs, just so you know.
Well, the doctor’s reading was so far off the mark, especially considering that I was wearing a lot of especially heavy clothing (a very full denim skirt, for example) that I just knew it was miscalibrated. I lamented it as an “I wish” and didn’t say anything.
So tonight I took my clothes off and weighed myself to see what I really weighed. On my scale at home, that I used last time, and the time before that, etc.
And it was even less! Turns out I weigh about 20lbs less than I thought I did. Now, part of that could be due to a recent medication change, but that medication change was only maybe a month ago, and I sure as hell would have noticed if I dropped 20lbs in a month.
I guess all I can say is “cool.” I’ve been consciously stopping eating when I’m full, even if there is food left on the plate, and I haven’t been snacking when I’m bored. Those are the two main things that I’d put into place intentionally. Guess they’re working!
I’ve been trying to lose (a lot) of weight over this summer. It’s gone well and I’ve lost about 35-40 pounds. I weigh myself each morning and record it. Simple enough.
But I had a doctors appt last month and fully clothed their scales registered me about 10-12 pounds lighter than my home scale.
Well I’ve been having to wear belts on my pants, which used to be optional. I have wide hips, so that helps. I wear a size 8 in most things, but sometimes I can fit into a 6. I bet right now I could fit into most sixes. For shirts I wear a small anyway in s-m-l sized clothes, sometimes an x-small if it’s stretchy (boobs), so there isn’t much further down I can go for tops. I can’t fit into every cut of top, though, because of my boobs. Some things are too baggy at the waist if they fit my boobs.
ETA: I didn’t mean to talk about my boobs so much, sorry.
Heh. Well, I only gain and lose in my hips. 5 lbs in one spot is a lot more than if you lose weight evenly, I guess. I probably wouldn’t have to change shirt sizes unless I gained more than 20 lbs.
The weight loss surgery was in 2001. I’ve already lost that weight. The amphetamines are the medication change I mentioned, which is only a month old and therefore can’t be responsible for all of it.
You evidently don’t have my hips… them gunslinger bumps may go up and down, but the hips themselves stay the same. I usually need to have a couple inches taken off the waist of any trousers I buy; losing either waist or bumps would not make anything slid off.
