• Smashing Pumpkins

• Chicago (the band, originally the CTA)

• The Buckinghams

• Lou Rawls

• The Cryin Shames (there were two bands with this name!)

Bands like The Grateful Dead had members from all over the country. But I think it’s safe to say, The Grateful Dead came from San Francisco.
