Where do comic illustrators and comic writers connect?

I’m developing a short story I wrote into a webcomic, and I need to hook up with a good illustrator, so any help would be appreciated. Maybe there’s a discussion forum or a blog or something that does that, I dunno. I thought the comics solons here might know.

You’ll have to register to post on both forums, but they are free. Just be sure you lurk around and get to know the general tone of both boards before you post, just like you would have done here.

There is also ComicSpace and Drawing Board. Going there as a writer is a bit like being one of the guys at a swing party who didn’t bring a date (Writers seeking artists outnumber artists seeking writers something like 100 to 1), but some incredible artists show their stuff there.

Thanks, I’ll give them a visit, too. My feeling is that if anyone does the illustration, it should be because they really like the story and think it would make a good webcomic. And they have to be a good artists with a talent for conveying emotion through facial expression and body language. So I figure I’m facing 100-to1 odds as it is.
