I got some in-laws that found out I know computers, and they are bugging to find this old set of software games. “Somehow” the games are no longer on their computer, and since I know computers…
Anyway, I tried searching on eBay and on around the net, but can’t seem to find anything. The requester doesn’t remember the name of the manufacturer, Bicycle or Hoyle? The CD-ROM was new in 1998 and had 10 games on it, or so including…
Old Hell, Scat, Pinocole, Hearts, Spades, Crazy Eights, and 4 more.
I’ve found lot’s of discontinued software at those massive computer sales offered occasionally at convention centers. There are tables and tables of 2 or 3 generation-old softyware for under $10 bucks, both games and productivity.
The 2002 game requirements are as follows and are fairly minimal.
If you need the original version 1.0 (the 1998 version) you can probaly snag an older copy on Ebay or if you go to Sierra games to the Hoyle card games forum, I’m pretty sure there are numerous people who have upgraded and have an older version they are not using hanging around they would sell for a few bucks.
Thanks for the suggestions. I don’t think I made it clear in the OP that the in-law wants the old 1998 version. They tried the new version but they don’t like it. I tried eBay and Amazon before I posted.
I called Sierra and they don’t have any old versions availabe, but suggested I try CDROMUSA.COM (game not available) and Nothingbutsoftware.com (game not available). They did have the title though, “Hoyle Classic Card Games 98”
I will try the Forum and see if anyone wants to part with their copy.
