Where does your city rank?

Helsinki tops it…
Nah, but you´re right, Austria has a pretty high suicide rate, but Vienna lies below national average, according to the WHO reports.
If you´re young, that is. In the 65+ group, things get really ugly. And I was always told Vienna was more of an old folks-city…
It was extremely high way into 1960s, though, so I like your Cold War theory…
I don´t believe the term “involuntary suicide” exists, by the way

Let´s not talk about this depressing stuff - I don´t think mental health was included as a parameter in the survey. Mortality yes, crime and violence yes, public health services yes, but as I already said - them survey guys think differently than we do.
They really should have included weather conditions; the availability of sunshine is one of my personal priorities when it comes to emotional well-being. And the sea. A land-locked country is just sad.

But hey, we rank #1!
I can just picture the mayor in his office:
“Mayor, the city-ranking´s just in. We´re number 1!”
“This calls for a celebration!” (walks to the LP player, puts on “Celebration” and does a little jig)

Problem is, most Viennese wouldn´t believe it - they always need something to complain about…

The city I grew up in rates at 100, but the city where I live now doesn’t rate at all. Well- I guess I knew that…
