Where is a safe place to order seeds?

Thank all of you so much for the suggestions and reviews. I can tell that I’m going to be spending a lot of time looking at pics of posies, which is almost as much fun as cat pics.

Or Etsy, or eBay, etc.?

Just order them directly from the company that sells them.

I had no idea. They just lost me as a customer.

I loved their free catalog, which has been described as “vegetable pornography.”

The title of this thread takes me back to when cannabis was still illegal most places and I was buying seeds from UK/European seed banks.

I just wanted to say that i love fedco, although I’ve mostly bought bare root plants from them, not seeds. But they have an awesome catalog and very good descriptions, and are quite reliable.

If ordering seeds on Ebay*, better to avoid sellers based in China and neighboring countries in southeast Asia, as well as Russia and its former satellites. Lots of scams originating in those places, even if the sellers have somehow amassed good ratings.

*with mild forebodings, I recently paid for Wright’s acanthus seeds from an American seller on eBay. They arrived promptly, germinated quickly and appear to be the genuine article.

Even if they’re “legitimate”, they might also contain invasive species.

I did not know that. Baker Creek was already on my shit list for sending me stuff that didn’t germinate. At those prices, unacceptable.

So off the list they go!
