Why is it only now, when I unexpectedly need my laptop to act like a basic alarm clock, I can’t figure out how to do it?
Argh! You’d think that a right-click on the time down there might open up an alarm menu. I was wrong.
Help?

Always check downloads.com. Search for the type of software you want, then set the OS type (windows 7) and license type (freeware).
here is a sampling

Thanks. I’ll try 'em all, now that I’m off today.
Or, to do it without extra software, find a sound file that can be an alarm, and put it in the Scheduled Tasks under Control Panel.
Excellent idea.
I just tried it. I did a create basic task. Pointed it at GOM Player in Program Files and then entered a path to a song as a parameter.
Works good. Especially if you don’t need to change it too often.
