I have Windows 7 and would like to know if there is an alarm that I could use to remind me of periodic times to do something. Like every hour, I want to be reminded to walk a bit or just stand up. I am diabetic and I need some kind of reminder.
Outlook lets you set tasks and reminders. Either a pop up text or it chimes. You can set it up daily, week, monthly etc. I have mine set to remind me about meetings at work.
There’s also a free shareware alarm clock that I like.

I used Windows 7’s own Task Scheduler (you can get to it using the “Start / Control Panel / Administrative functions / Task Scheduler” menu path) to set up weekly alarms reminding me of trash day (every Tuesday) and recycling day (every Friday). I’m confident there are a plethora of simple freeware/shareware programs around that can perform this task a lot more simply, though.
I got workrave, but it doesn´t allow me to set my own schedule. However, I will try it for a few days to learn if it functions for me. It is, though a good reminder to stop working and do something else.
Just checking, you’ve looked in preferences?
Could not find preferences in the Workrave folder.
OK, I found it and reset it to my needs and liking. Thanks. Works for me perfectly now.
