Some of us would not, since we’re Clinton supporters. 
My representative, the Hon. Keith Ellison, is a Muslim. He is, however, a Lutheran Muslim, so its OK.
That’s just silly. No, I’m not going to require every candidate to swear to put the US Constitution above their own religion.
If elected, he or she will need to do that at the swearing in ceremony. To uphold the Constitution in all respects, not just wrt his religion.
Tell the truth, though, that’s only your default candidate since there isn’t a good radical, fanatical, violent Muslimist who has declared himself yet.
Are those the only two choices? Can I advocate for a moderate Muslim? Or, do they not exist?
The same questions could be asked about many Republican candidates. And should be.
Maybe you can get it this way: Would *you *advocate for a Christian candidate who choses radical, fanatical, or violent, Christianity over a candidate who believes in the BOR?
Isn’t a Muslim who chooses to follow the Lutheran faith called a “Lutheran?”
I have lotsa Jewish friends (blame Brooklyn) and it drives me nuts when they refer to the goyim, particularly me, as “Christians.” No, no…YOU may be a Jew because your Mom is Jewish, but it doesn’t work that way for the rest of us. My parents could be evangelical Total-Immersion Baptist snake handlers, but unless I consider Jesus of Nazareth to be a supernatural entity sent by God Herself to redeem all humanity, I ain’t no Christian.
I assumed it worked the same way for Islam.

I can understand why you wouldn’t want your chosen candidates to truthful, or factual, because they might not get elected.
However, would you advocate for a Muslim candidate who choses radical, fanatical, or violent Islam over a candidate who believes in the BOR? Would you advocate for a Muslim candidate who advocates honor killings of their own children for leaving Islam, or their daughters for talking to boys?
Sure they are. How many Americans remembered in 1992 the ridiculous speech given by Bill Clinton in 1988 at the DNC that was cruelly mocked by late-night show hosts.
Did Americans realize that after Bush 1 said, “No new taxes.” he made a deal with Dems to raise taxes and lower spending? Do they also realize the Dems broke the deal?
Do Americans realize Honey Boo Boo, Texas House Flippers and Duck Dynasty are not documentaries?
Would he allow polygamy? That would be the deal-maker/breaker for many American males and would guaranty him 6 Electoral Votes.
