Where is the Xaiver institute located?

I’m rather curious, I can’t find it mentioned in the old cartoon, and the new one gives a town name, but I’m rather doubtful of it when it comes to actual X-men history, it has made so many changes. I believe I heard it mentioned in a trailer for one of the movies as upstate new york, but my gut has said western massachusetts for some time, and I’m sure I heard that from some source, though I have no idea what. No website I’ve been to seems to have any idea on the subject, and I’m wondering if my fellow dopers have any idea.

Damned hamsters ate my first post!!

Let’s try again!!

There ya go!
P.S. Welcome to the boards!!

I believe that the name of the town is Salem Center, which is fiction, although Westchester actually has a town named South Salem.

In the comic, it was located on Graymalkin Lane, a town in the aforementioned Salen Center in north Westchester, on the northern end of the New York 'burbs.

You might also be thinking about Emma Frost’s Massachusetts Academy, where she trained a rival mutant group (the Hellions) and then a splinter X-Men group (Generation X); she’s now an instructor at Xavier’s proper.

And a North Salem, where I spent a good deal of my childhood cavorting through the woods. And the Hearst’s also have a home there. My mother actually spent a bit of time playing with Patty when they were children.

But to stay on tipoc, and reiterate what everyone else has said:
Westchester Co., New York.
