I don’t know why the memory of this bridge- or what’s left of it, intrigues me:
Somewhere, there is an elevated stretch of Interstate. It passes over an old neighborhood, and when it was built, it was necessary to demolish an older bridge that ran perpendicular to it. To save money (I guess) they just tore down the center of the old bridge and left the remainder of it like a barricaded ramp. I saw it at night, and with the kudzu growing on it it looked kind of spooky. I was thinking it was in Memphis or Chattanooga, but I just can’t find it on Google Earth. Sound familiar?
I don’t know of any like that in the Chattanooga area, and I’ve driven/been a passenger a number of times on the interstates in and around there many times over the years. That doesn’t mean it couldn’t be there, of course.
I did an ugly google search and here are some possibilities that came up, in the Memphis area:

You might do some hunting on BridgeHunter.net - it came up in my last search, and now I’m distracted looking at it
Or post to aaroads.com, the forum for roadgeeks.
Thanks, L. They let me post (I pasted my OP from here) without even registering
