Where should I go for the winter?

I live in Maine and actually love the four seasons; however, this last winter was a booger and since we have had such a cold spring and disappointing summer, so far, I’m thinking I’d like to get away for a few months next year; probably January through April. I’m looking for some place with mild weather, but would like to avoid the south, inc. Florida. I’ve lived there before. I do taxes so I would probalby just work at the local H&R to pay part of my expenses. Any suggestions?

How about San Diego?

Las Vegas.

Phoenix?

Tierra del Fuego

Do they have and H&R in Tierra del Fuego? If there are enough expats I guess. I was thinking about Las Vegas though. HUmmmm.

Goa

Sure, the airfare will kill ya! But there’s no place like it on earth for an inexpensive holiday.

That’s where I’m going this year anyway.

Goa is certainly one place I never would have throught of; probably not good for long term (several months) but it looks interesting for a future trip. When you say inexpensive, what are we talking in U.S. dollars for accomodation and food? Do they try to rip off tourists from the US? I like that music!

Oops! I totally forgot I posted here! Sorry!!

Yes, I was talking US dollars inexpensive. Food AND accomodation. However, if you do seriously think about going there, plan far in advance. The cheap accomodation is sold out literally months in advance during the tourist season (November through April).

And yes, they do try to rip off foreign tourists. But that happens everywhere in India. And it only happens if you allow them to - come prepared, and you’ll have the time of your life! I guarantee it.

Personally, I find the music monotonous. But that’s just me.
