Boston Beer Works (by the Fleet Center or Fenway) is pretty cool. They have really good dark beer, and I also loved the Boston Garden Golden that the one by the Fleet Center has.
They have really good sirloin tips, too.

I recommend the Black Rose as well. Always good Irish music and a decent crowd. Bell In Hand is also cool. I think Paul Revere hung out there.
Irish Times in Worcester is also a great Irish bar with much more parking and a tad less crowded. If you want to be around people with heavy Irish accents then, by all means, come to Brighton(western side of Boston). I was at The Last Drop recently and felt I was in Ireland itself due to the fact that all the people around me had just recently moved to the states from their homeland. In fact, I had one Irishman who has been in Boston for a few years interpret what another Mc’ was saying becuse he’s only been here a few months and his accent was so heavy that I couldnt understand alot of what he was saying. He was pretty funny, though. "What’s the difference between Mick Jagger and a Scotsman? One say’s “Hey you, get off of my cloud” and the other say’s “Hey McCloud, get off of my ewe.”
Good luck and have fun. Maybe I’ll join the dopefest if there is one.
The Black Rose is my favorite place in the world. Ever. Go there.
if not, I also got a kick out of the Burren.
yep, I haven’t lived in the Boston area to add more than a handful of "me too"s to this thread, but hey, it’s another opinion.
I’ll second that.
There’s a place in Center Square, Cambridge but I can’t remember the name.
Boston Beer Garden in Southie is pretty cool hangout place but it’s kind of “neighborhoody”. Might not be fun unless your in a big group.
I don’t think you can go wrong with checking out the bars around Fanuel Hall or the Canal Street. There’s The Harp as well as a buch of other Irish places I can’t remember the name of.
Shit. I may have to rent a car now and drive up to Boston myself now for St Pattricks Day (it also happens to be my brothers birthday and he happens to live in Boston). I just hope they can handle my New York flava’.
Another hijack…I got so drunk one night I lost my car in Brighton somewhere. Took all the next day for me to figure out where I parked the damn thing!
The Irish Embassy is on (I’m pretty sure) Canal Street. Or Friend Street. I do know that it’s near North Station and a nice place to have a pint or two if you’re waiting for a train.
OT/ My sis and I (and assorted friends) will be hitting all the above mentioned bars between North Station and the Black Rose on the 15th, to celebrate her 35th b’day. If you are in the area, come by and say howdy! (I am a tall redhead with an asymmetrical bob haircut and small blue nose stud. We will probably be laughing a lot and making a bit of a spectacle.)
