I wanted to check out Star Trek this weekend. I was absolutly everywhere last weekend, starting about every hour. But I can’t find it anywhere this weekend. It’s playing for three shows in one theatre about 20 miles away. Why did it close so soon, after only one week??
I don’t know what’s going on in your area, but here it’s playing multiple screens at every theater. I went to a sold-out showing today.
You sure you didn’t search for the IMAX version or something? Based on the “Washington, DC” in your location field, I’m getting multiple pages of listings in the area, but the IMAX version only gives the one hit, for a theater down in Alexandria.
I did a quick check and the first 12 results shows 5 theaters in DC, 3 in Alexandria, 1 in Arlington, Bethesda, Hyattsville, and Temple Hills showing it.
You are all right! I went to rottentomatoes (link below) and it only showed on theatre in my entire area with it. Made me wonder why. No I wonder why RT is gooned up.
The internets beat newspapers in a lot of ways, but here’s a case where a quick look at the movie listings in the local paper would have found theaters and show times easily.
Where the heck did Star Trek go?
No idea, but I’m betting it went boldly.
…Where no man had gone before…
There is no way it is closed completely from those theatres.
Or better yet, check the online copy of the local newspaper for the current listings.
AMC theatres has plenty of locations showing it.
