So - I’m taking a web-based course this semester - I’ve never met anyone in the course, or the instructor.
I’m now in the building that the exam is scheduled in. This schedule is according to both the Registrar’s office and the Course web site. I am at the correct room. It is locked. There is no one here. There are no signs directing me elsewhere.
I am so confused.

There never was any “class”. The whole thing was an elaborate joke set up by your friends. Have a good laugh and get them back later.

I have a dream like this all the time, except in the end some police with clown masks come and arrest me, and then put me in prison where I have to eat boiled turtle and bake humongous loaves of bread that keep rising even after they’ve been cooked and eventually suffocate me, upon which I wake up in chills and can’t sleep until I’ve thrown out every roll and baguette in the house. I don’t know what all of this means but I’m sure it’s pretty bad, so I try to keep it all shoved down in the root cellar of my subconscious. The last thing one wants to know about one’s self is why one would need to fear bread dough.
I doubt any of this helped you with finding your final exam, but I can’t do much about that. Good luck with the class.
Stranger
Well, I found it. Eventually a few other confused looking people showed up and we sort of milled about until about 5 minutes after the exam was supposed to start and finally the prof showed up.
It was the right day though…
FWIW, I actually had two finals today, even though it’s a Saturday. My University is weird.
So did you nail those exams?
Yah, I’m pretty sure I did ok. They’re options in a degree that I’m probably not going to use for much of anything - yes I’m one of those goofs taking a degree with no practical purpose just for the fun of it. Go figure.
Cool! I find that laudable. What are the degrees in?
Psychology. So I can analyze friends and family for FUN! 
I suggest you set up a booth. 
I’m sure you get get a grant just to do the people around the dope.
Weird, I’ve never heard of an online class that requires the tests be taken on campus. Seems to defeat the purpose. Is this offered by a local college or university, or is it an entirely web-based program that rents out space to proctor the tests?
You’ve reminded me of one of my many pointless stories:
Way back when I was a student, my schedule was often quite hectic. I often had bad dreams where I was not being able to find the room for a class, or even worse, an exam.
Then, one day, it really happend. I think it was the second semester of Thermodynamics. All of my finals up to that point had been scheduled at the same time as the class had been through the whole semester. For some reason, the Thermo final was at 8:30 when the class had been at 9:30 and I managed to miss that minor detail. So, I sauntered into the auditorium and it was obvious that the exam was well under way. I walked up to podium and whispered the obvious question to the prof and he handed me an exam and told me to do the best I could.
I guess it was the adrenaline from the panic or something, but for the next hour, I was more focused than I think I had ever been. I probably did better on the exam than I would have in the normal allotted time. I aced it.
To this day, I’m thankfull for the prof for allowing me to take the exam and for not suspecting me of cheating when I did so well. I had a few bad teachers during my formal education, but I had many more good ones and their good far outweighed the bad.
It’s a U of C course. All the other exams were on line - it’s only the final that needed to be written on campus - it’s a Registrar thing I guess - it’s not a distance education thing, just a web based thing.
