Where the Hell is this kids parents?

Stupid Kid — First Article
:smack:

Evolution at work.

that does it, I’m taking off the Jesus fish & putting on the Darwin one.

Naaaaaw! G

The kid’s dumb. That much I will grant you. However, I don’t think the “where were his parent’s” question applies. He’s 15. Certainly that is old enough to be unsupervised by his parents at all times.

I’m trying to figure out who is the bigger idiot. The kid who wanted to be hit on the head or the one who took him up on the challenge. That two people this stupid even exist is disturbing.

That should read “Certainly 15 is old enough that he doesn’t need to be supervised by his parents at all times.”

WAS dumb, actually.

The kid ain’t dumb no longer; now he’s dead.

That’s terrible.

But I’d also say that while yes, it was a stupid thing to do on both sides, most people have done at least one completely stupid thing around that age. There have been several threads over the years, most of which ran several pages, completely about stupid and potentially fatal things that we did as youngsters. Jumping off of roofs, shooting fireworks at one another, many stories involving Jarts, you name it.

Yeah, it was stupid. Yeah, they should have known better. But for the grace of God, a whole lot of us would have been injured or died just as stupidly. Saying it’s evolution in action is just cruel and pointless.

I agree with Beadalin in the fact that stupidity is not uncommon in teenagers.
How many videos did I see sent to “Real TV” about kids skateboarding over dangerous ground, resulting in dislocated arm, broken bones, etc.
(Btw, I’m not trying to incline that I think skateboarding is a stupid game or anything)

There are many other things we do, as kids, knowing there’s a danger, but in belief that “it happens to others, it will never happen to me” and I’m pretty sure that the kid who administered the whack didn’t realize how fragile his friend’s head is compared to the skateboard.

Yeah, but his parents should have raised him with enough common sense. Granted, I did my fair share of really retarded things, but my parents, and my grandmother especially always told me stories of kids cracking their heads open. It scared the hell out of me.

But as far as saying Evolution at work, well, everyone’s entitled to their own opinion. Not everyone loves the human race you know…

“B’deeah B’deeah B’deeah…That’s All Folks”

True. Beadalin has a good point. I did a lot of things that could have killed me, I guess I just didn’t do so many things that I knew would obviously hurt. I guess it’s on that point where a young me and Michael Aubuchon differ.

My friends have an adult child that, as a youngster, put a BB gun up to his head and pulled the trigger to see what the air coming out would feel like. Needless to say, it had a BB in it, so he ended up with one lodged in his stupid head. All these years later he still doesn’t really know what possessed him. And he’s a very bright man now. I think some kids just have a very high “I wonder if” factor in their brains.

Oooo…after reading that the kid is dead now, I can’t imagine what the parents must feal like right now. And he died over something so stupid. I feel bad for both parties, as all futures are now influenced in such a horrible way.

Because of one foolish act, not only do a mom and dad have to grieve for the rest of their lives, a young man will also be scarred for life by the knowledge that he killed someone–albeit unintentionally–and that that someone was a friend.

Hmm…do the Darwin Awards exclude minors?

[slight hijack]

This is a question I asked yesterday when I saw a young toddler down in someone’s driveway. I would have hit her if she was in the street, or ran out into the street because it was right around a curve. That would have made my day. There would go my driving days.

Oh, the poor 14-yr-old! Yes, he was really, really stupid to take up his friend on the offer, but good Og! He surely never intended to kill his friend. He must be devastated. The poor fool.

I am INVINCIB(whack!)
