I love mid-century modern, but boy pieces by the major designers are really expensive. I was looking at a swan chair, an arne jacobsen design. An original will set you back about $3,600, but a knock-off can be had for about $230. I am not sure how the market works for these. A popular designer can demand exhorbitant prices for his work, but then the style gets copied (or is sold?) and you can buy them much cheaper. I still want a swan chair to go with our Noguchi table.

Home Decorators Collection has stuff that seems similar to your link, at much less shocking prices. I get their catalog and have ordered a rug from them (that has held up well and that I like very much), but I can’t speak to the quality of their furniture.
