Where to find gypsy moth infestation predictions?

I seem to be seeing a lot of gypsy moth caterpillars this season. I don’t know if it’s just me, where I happen to be looking, or if we’re in for a bad year — but I can’t find maps or predictions on the net. I’m in New York/Hudson Valley if it makes a difference.

Anyone with a source? A quaint folk predictor? A similar hatred for the nasty things?

Rhythm

dunno…but if you have time, take a stick and a small bucket, destroy the nests, and then dump the catapillers in the nearest fishing hole/ocean. I hate them too…Back when I used to be stranded on a community college campus, that had a man made lake, I’d destroy the gypsy moths…the fish seemed to really like the gypsy moths.

Extension Service typically keeps track of such things.
