Just a joke on “Viva Las Vegas” and that city’s nickname, Lost Wages.
I spend a lot of time and money there.
The title of a Sybly Whyte novel. Excerpt follows:
Qadgop the Mercotan slithered flatly around the after-bulge of the tranship. One claw dug into the meters-thick armor of pure neutronium, then another. Its terrible xmex-like snout locked on. Its zymolosely polydactyl tongue crunched out, crashed down, rasped across. Slurp! Slurp! At each abrasive stroke the groove in the tranship’s plating deepened and Qadgop leered more fiercely. Fools! Did they think that the airlessness of absolute space, the heatlessness of absolute zero, the yieldlessness of absolute neutronium could stop QADGOP THE MERCOTAN? And the stowaway, that human wench Cynthia, cowering in
helpless terror just beyond this thin and fragile wall…
I love the idea of having a zymolosely polydactl tongue with a terrible xmex-like snout.
I am currently in the process of changing my handle. Suggestions are appreciated.
MarxBoy (but not for long)
My name is a simple combination word. I started posting on sports boards, so my board name is a combination of the nicknames for the sports teams of my alma maters: Michigan State Spartans and Ohio State Buckeyes.
Well, I had a handle on another message board as “Lord Davidson”, and that’s what mine originally was…but someone made a comment about how I was like a Dark Lord, or something…so I had it changed to reflect that.
I have a fetish for this professional wrestler named Jeff Hardy-blond hair, green eyes, hot bod,MEOW KITTY KITTY
One of my best friends,Brian, made upa song to the tune of Barbie Girl called Hardy Girl about what I would to do Jeff if we ever met.
So after awhile, my friends started calling me Hardygirl. I changed the spelling from -girl to -grrl to make it more punk rock.
And since my other main nickname,Diva, was taken when I signed up for webtv…
I am hardygrrl…hear me roar in my punk rock girly girl way.
Mine is my interpretation of a Rolling Stones song.
My name is Pam (Pamela actually, but no one’s called me that in years.) Sometime around freshman year, I began answering to Pammi. I have a habit of poo-ing peoples’ names (Seaneepoo, Greggipoo, and Jeffypoo are 3 of my best friends…), and somewhere along the line I too was poo-ed. Thus Pammipoo was born, and it’s stuck ever since.
Fascinating story huh?
Mine’s a character in The Mikado.
And here I thought you were named for the deceased hamster in Bart Simpson’s class…perhaps I need a life.
(“They threw me own father in the bog!” :D)
*Sparteye – MSU and Ohio State?
*makes cross sign with fingers and backs away
gums spelled backwards.
time for this lurker to come out of the woodwork, me thinks…
Aussie dopers will be blessed with instant understanding, the rest of you, all will be revealed here: http://www.vegemite.com.au/singalong.asp?area=4
Mine is a word that I have always considered funny.
Welcome to the SDMB, happylittlevegemite and amati!
As for my SN, it’s simply my real first name and last initial.
hey, happylittlevegemite, i’m so proud…your first post was on MY thread. welcome!
oh, and all the welcomes from everyone else make me feel so warm and happy inside. thank you! alright, i’m getting too gushy for 3 in the morning…
My username comes from the the long line of nicknames i have - facility, flea, flick, flikky, shagwell, and fel…have i forgotten any?? anyway…flikker just popped into my mind when i joined…can anyone guess my real name…lol
Actually, that was the original inspiration, but I got tired of explaining that one (I have an email address with superdude in the name), so I invented the superhero story, too. Little footnote to all you Simpsons fans. When my ex-fiancee and I were together, she used to call me Superdude and her pet name was Jubjub.
Ooh! Ooh! Can I try? I’m gonna say…Keri Russell!!! Am I right, Felicity?
Mine is simply a random selection of letters. Whe I first signed up with a service provider (about 8 years ago) I was prompted for a user name, and I thought “no one uses their real name,” so I hit a few keys and “nerv” was born. I kind of like it because nobody can guess where it comes from.
Yes, you’ve been “spooje”-ing all over the boards for over a year now. [sub]Jeez, right in my eye…[/sub]
Back in design school, one assignment was to create a business package (logo/letterhead/business card) for our own freelance design business. I named my business “Tygr Design” after my own name.
-Ty(gr!)
[sub]Flikker - you wouldn’t happen to share a name with a certain teen-angst soap-opera on the WB, would you?[/sub]
