Wherein We pit erudite-seeming Pakistanis WRT Israel, Zionism, etc.

Dear supposedly learned and erudite Pakistani, representing all of the supposedly learned and erudite Pakistanis,

After reading many articles about Israel, Zionism, Judaism, and the history of the above (or, rather, articles against Israel, Zionism, Judaism, and the history of the above) rife with inaccuracies, misinformation, misconceptions, lies, and irrational arguments, I can only say one thing:

Your brain is fit only to be cooked and eaten with nihari. It serves no use to the human body housing it. It seems to be quite lacking in power. Perhaps you need to stick your finger in an electric outlet in order to jump-start it.

I cannot believe how idiotic, stupid, senseless, brainless, irrational, uneducated, and seemingly illiterate you seem. You spew forth arguments and statements that no person with an ounce of knowledge would be able to seriously consider. Your knowledge and fancy-sounding statements makes one to laugh in your face.

And you wonder why the world does not take you seriously.

Please import books about Israel, Zionism, and Judaism from the United States, the United Kingdom, or any other nation with a level of open education, and please read and believe them. Reading senseless, irrational, inaccurate tracts that surprisingly fit your anti-Semitic agenda (because they were, surprise!, written by people with an anti-Semitic agenda) are trash fit only to be torn in pieces and stuffed in cloth to make fluffy pillows for the homeless and the needy.

Besides, you have no place to criticize Israel when your own situation is so deplorably abominable that it makes any person believing in justice and efficiency to vomit profusely with disgust, contempt, and frustration.

Thank you,
The Dark Lord of Mordor
WRS

Linky-poo?

This is a link to the article that launched this rant.

This link is for an article dated May 7, 2005; I gather it will not be relevant once he writes his next article, whereupon the current article will be in the “Archives” section of his webpage.

WRS - I see agendas. (And why is it not agendae?)

Well I’m not as offended by the article as the OP is. All he really seems to be saying is that Jews can’t claim to be the chosen people with a right to all of the promised land because of their genetic heritage…which isn’t an argument I really think anyone but crackpots care about to begin with.

He really made me laugh though. I love that the Pro-Bush Pro-Armageddon lobby is what is responsible for the USA’s support of Israel as a state. Somehow I don’t think anyone knew who Bush was when Israel was founded.

Because “agenda” (in Latin) is already plural, the singular is “agendum”.

Because “agenda” (in Latin) is already plural, the singular is “agendum”.

I don’t see what the big hubbub is…Actually, I found the historical part very interesting. But I agree that his reasoning is pretty wooly-headed. A Jew is a Jew is a Jew whether he or she is descended from the Kohaynim, or the product of a quick rape from some Cossack. “The Chosen People” are called that because they chose (and still choose) to honor the Covenant. It’s not a birthright.

On second thought, the ** OP** is right. This guy’s a poopy-head.

WeRSauron, I hate you. Not because your opinion appears to be deluded, for I feel the same way you do about this issue. Nor is it about something you have done in other thread. No, it is because your OP is so much better, and less verbose, then the OP I was planning on witting on the topic of people who stand in the way of equal rights for gay people, and other groups.

Sorry, no: it’s a gerundive {a passive adjective}, not a plural noun: it translates roughly as “That which must be done”. As in the name Amanda, or “she who must be loved”: there’s no singular “Amandum”.

You’re the young black guy who’s so drop-dead gorgeous, right? Dammit, do you have to be so erudite as well? Leave *something * for us ordinary mortals, you know?

I took four years of Latin back in the Stone Age, and I’ve thought agenda was a plural noun for all these years!

Well, you got the guy part right.

Agenda is plural or agendum according to *The American Heritage Dictionary.

Screwed up that coding.

According to Merriam-Webster, it’s agendum that’s the gerundive.

Wow, wrong.

When used substantively, agenda certainly is a plural noun. And yes, there certainly is a singular amandum.

No fucking clue why that second link is wrong. It’s where I am eating dinner, not Latin.

amandum

Upon further research, I unresevedly and humbly admit that I was wrong, and furthermore am neither young, black, erudite, nor gorgeous. Mea culpa.
