Where's davidm? In the hospital recovering from a medical screwup.

You have a spot shaved into your head that isn’t even? Not sure that’s worth going to the dr.

Speaking of haircuts, I saw the facility’s stylist yesterday. I wear my hair medium long but I told her to take it all off so it’s easier to take care of while I’m in here. So now I have a buzzcut. My hair has not been this short since I was a little kid in the 60s and it was called a crewcut

This is what I’m talking about:

I’ve been receiving compliments, so maybe I need to reconsider how I wear it from here on.

I’m clueless as to what’s in or out style wise. Is this in right now?

I’ve been sporting some kinda fade.

That or a fauxhawk.

Have fun!!

Merely curious – what’s wrong with a grilled cheese sandwich? Is that something you’re not supposed to eat right now, or do you just not like them?

I’m guessing that, after a day or so of only grilled cheese sandwiches, they get very boring.

I like grilled cheese fine, but it’s not really much of a dinner.

In any case, that only happened one time.

How’s the PT going?

What do we want? Updates!

When do we want them? Well, when you get a chance sometime today.

Back to the topic of earbuds for a minute. If you happen across some $$$ in the future, you might consider these Bose wireless over-the-ear headphones.

No way would I ever spend $350 on headphones, but a friend gave me a pair as a gift and I LOVE them. They recharge quickly and a charge lasts days. Excellent sound, they are hearing aid compliant, do noise cancelling, etc.

I should be going to today’s session soon.

It’s been hard. The walking is difficul, but it has to be done.

They did some cognitive tests. I passed everthing 100%, except for memory. I didn’t do well at all on memory, so now I’m concerned that I may have a permanent deficit.

Keep plugging away. You’re still in the early days of your recovery and it is probably too early for any real conclusion to be drawn on your memory. Remember, not that long ago they thought you weren’t going to wake up. Keep working on your therapy and worry about longer term issues later. I think getting out of the rehab place is a worthwhile and important goal for now. I also happen to think you’re doing great.

{{{hugs}}} from your invisible internet friend.

They’re making me sit out in a chair and my bottom hurts so bad. But they won’t let me get back in bed.

Did they tell you why they’re having you sit up? Can you sit up anywhere else that might be more comfortable for you? Are there any stretches or chair exercises that you could do that might help with the bottom soreness?

I just want lie in be on my side.
They say it’s not good to lie on bed. But this kind of torture can’t be good for me either.

Can they give you a better cushion?

Woke up, 2:00 am, freezing. Asked for a blanket and was told that all of the.blankets are in the laundry.

WTF. Nobody plans these things?

Can you put on a sweater, or socks, or a robe?

No blankets? What the…?

I’m with you on that one, that’s stupid!

I might cut them a little slack on making you sit up for a bit, but not till it’s excruciating! That’s just cruel!

I’m sorry to hear you’re facing these struggles on top of everything else!

Sending you all my best ‘hoping things improve soon’ energy. Hang in there!

Hey, who needs a blanket at 2AM?

Wow, that’s a major screw-up. Hopefully you can ask for one in advance going forward. It’s freakin’ Dec!!

Yes. They planned for you to still be asleep. Way to ruin their plan.

Seriously, that’s F’d up. Feels like they’re skimping on blankets (or just your extreme bad luck, they normally adequate numbers of blankets but their laundry was running behind or something happened to soil a lot of them all at once). But more likely the former, I bet.
